I got a great deal on these trumpets the other week, i had been toying with the idea of these for a while..
The standard air box unbolts easily enough, then once the new base plate is on, the trumpets go on with the retaining rings. It's a bit of a game lining the trumpet up over the carb mouth, if i ever have to take it apart again I will get a spot of weld between the trumpet and base plate.
Must teach myself to aluminium weld ..
Bit late to fire it up when I had finished, so will try tomorrow after work.
Need to also sort a proper catch tank for the breather fumes

Just need to get the rest of the engine bay looking nice
Re: Shiney Donald trumpets
where did you get the trumpets from, is the mesh built into them ? thanks
Re: Shiney Donald trumpets
Hi Veesix. I got a bargin with them from eBay, Im pretty sure they are the ones classic Alfa and others do for around £250. They are not the Sprintfilter branded ones, back plate is different shape and no filter for the carb breather hole. The mesh is built in / crimped around the trumpet mouth, the actual trumpet end has a nice radius and tapers down well into the 40mm carb inlet.
Hope that helps
