I've finally managed to get a set of 40 Dellortos for my 1.7 engine. I've been using 36 Webber's upto now with different jets . It ran pretty well to be honest. I've now rebuild the 40s and the car runs well at idle but stuttered when just off idle. Obviously a weak mixture. I was opening the mixture screws 2 half turns to get a nice idle as I would with the Webber's . It seems this wasn't enough as the link petrolhead gives states to start with 5 turns . I've tried this and the car now drives almost right. Has anyone had dealings with these carbs to fine tune them ? The internet only seems to deal with Webber's.
