ITS ALIVE! & Welcome Aboard!

Post by PETROLHEAD »

Well folks, the new home for fellow Classic Alfa owners and Alfisti is now live, up and running.

There's plenty to tweak and improve yet, but most of the graft is done, and hopefully you'll all find it a smooth and slick website forum to use.

Its free of course, and none of the classed or tiered memberships either, you're all important to us, and you're all welcome.

Whilst we are making every effort for this to be an excellent and professional forum to be in, the best available in time hopefully, we do want all our member to enjoy themselves, and feel free to be as comical and random as the mood takes you! so no heavy handed moderating or post policing without a really good reason too.

We welcome all types of input, classified adverts for anything you have to offer, and a trader section for the more business like, but at the end of the day, all we want from this site, is to enhance and improve, for existing and new to Classic Alfa ownership, the experience of living with our wonderful cars.

We want it to grow into a vital database of knowledge, experience, and friendship, helping to make our Classic Alfa's the cars we all know they can be, and better!

So come on in, come on all,

and a huge Alfisti welcome from your site owners, friends, and fellow dedicated fans,

Petrolhead (Shrew) & Sudonym (Kev)

i can only echo what mr shrewbedoo above has said, we hope all will be welcome

i must say though that the credit should go to petrolhead for the hard work. although we jointly set this up, as is usual with these things it was whilst he was down south somewhere doing a delivery and i was at olivers mount at some bike race meet, it is the other half of the duo who deserves the credit for pushing it along and sorting things

lets hope it becomes the place to go for not only the boxer stuff but all classic alfa fans.

Kev....

I've got a thing about your username mate....

I either read it too fast and see "Synonym"

or too hasty and by force of habit I see "Sudocream" (baby butt cream)

or I keep wondering who this guy is ! :/

What was wrong with Kevjtd ? ...well apart from the "d" which stands for DIESEL :o

it's a play on words mate...

in english the word pseudonym (pronounced su-don-im in my lincs twang) means someone or something using a different name to there own

so it's supposed to be that, a referance to what all usernames are (how many users use there own full name?) but with a hint of Sud about it....

too clever eh? maybe kevjtd would have harked back to the dark last days on the other, dark side :D

I hate my Android Tablet. OK for reading books on but utterly useless for 'owt else.

Then again it could be just me !

I don't bother with Post Counts either as I soon run out of digits to keep track of 'em....

very true mate, i'm the same. would have had a proper argument with them at the mere suggestion  although probably a little longer ago for me, i got into diesels when fiat/alfa started the jtd's....

been out with john this afternoon, first in a 164 3.0 Q4, a lhd car as they were never produced over heer. an awesome car with fantastic corner grip and poise together with a 24V soundtrack 8-)
then got to drive his 75 3.0 back home, my first drive in a 75 actually but what a car. bonkers ergonomics to go with the marmite styling but with the growling V6 it was a pleasure to be in. i would love to have a go at pressing on in one, bet they are great fun 8-)

Right you two!!! (Kev & Shrew)

I'm on my works PC, so it's just on all the time, not shut down or anything, I've had to log in three times since 7 this evening, the forum has just been on in the background, I haven't been looking at it or posting, apart from the times I've had to log in! :(

the logging in situation will be addressed matey, please be patient.

we were going to trial run the forum secretly for a week or so to find and iron out the glitches but decided to wash our undies in public, which brings it's own issues!

we will get there ;)
