Boxer Meet 2014

Post by Ted27sud »

All, speaking just now with Shrew we thought we should get another meeting in the diary for all of us to get our Suds/33/Boxers out and have a play at Cadwell Park! We've done days there in 2012 and 2013 and they've always been fantastic.

The best date at the moment is with Opentracks on the 13th October which is a Monday and costs £119 for the full day. Go to opentrack.co.uk if you look on their website there are details of what you'll need for the day. Crash helmets, etc can be provided.

I'm definitely doing it regardless - it's been too long since I've had my Sud out so need to blow some cobwebs away!!

If you're up for it maybe we can get a list together and maybe see about a discount, etc from Opentrack.

Cheers, Ted

Sounds like a plan Ted, i'll be there, as i'm sure many others will be too.

I'll copy this thread across to the forum meets and events thread too, and capture as many as possible.

I may even put the 16v sud on track for that one, if i can get my axle in and straighten it out a bit! lol!

Was planning on coming to UK, family responsibilities permitting, in September, to sort out some lose ends...

However, if it comes to that, I'll be sure to set a date for my trip in that time so I can see you guys as well :)

I'll need an Alfa to run about though :p

Is there a busso V6 I could buy for a couple hundred quid ?

I've booked myself in for Cadwell on the 13th and will be using my Race Alfasud. I've bought a passenger place as well (£10 on the day) so, if anyone wants to come out for a blast let me know.

Also, Jamie Porter will be there in something Alfa and VERY special. He very kindly let me have a drive yesterday afternoon and all I can say is that Alfas are definitely back on track (literally).

You'll have to come along to see what it is but I'm sure that you have guessed already!

I wouldn't mind if it was that to be honest, however, Mr Porter's new ride will be as thrilling, and definitely a darn sight more comfortable!

Im looking forward to it, think i might book the sud on myself this year if i can just do a few refreshers on her!

I'll be there with the orange 33, - also, if anyone is thinking of going but worried about tyres, I've got some spare 14" revolutions ( sprint, 33, 98 pcb 4 stud ) with good A048 Yoko s on that could be borrowed for the day, just let me know, - lets get a few more Alfas there !

Just booked Mr Porter in with his 4C and noticed it's now £99 for the day.

Without sounding like I work for Opentrack (which I don't) - I don't think you can get better value than that for a day at Cadwell, with free drinks and snacks and free photos chucked in!

So, who have we definately got booked in so far?

Me in my Race Sud
Jamie in his 4C
Jube in ? or spectating?
Kev in something or spectating?
YorkSud in a 33 16V
Just Suds in a 33
Shrew in a SUD!!

Please add to the list.

Can't wait - it's nearly a year since I last drove my Sud which is criminal!

Of course Kev and anyone else who wants to.

Additions to the list are another friend who'll be there in a supercharged Lotus Elise.

Should be a really good day.

I'll be bringing my Sud to Cadwell on the 13th (my first ever track day).

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Hi Guys,
Is this still on for Monday 13th ??
If so what times the start ? if its early I'll come up on Sunday and stay at a premier inn somewhere (any recommendations ?).
Will probably bring the 75 if staying the night but can't trust myself if I take her on the track.
Can I just buy a spectators ticket on the day?

Would love to have a passenger ride with Ted but even if I get into the bucket seat I can't see myself getting out of it

Hopefully I'll see you all soon - it wont take long to update you on me Sud as F*** all has been done

still on for next monday afaik mate..
track opens around 9am but stays on until around 5pm so no need to rush
no need to go mad and crash the car, not everyone does...so taking it onto track isn't too daft an idea
spectating is free, no need to book, there will be nobody on the pay gates
passenger wrist bands can (i believe) be bought on the day for £10. need to sort one myself still...
