Burton waters, Lincoln

Post by KevJTD »

Not so much a meet up, too short notice for that.
Just a heads up that this Thursday I'm aiming to be at the Woodcocks just off the ring road of Lincoln for their monthly last Thursday classic car night.
No big club organising it so you get a real mixed bag of stuff there, Rob has taken the Imp in to Phils' today for a check up on the carb set-up, if he gets it back in time he'll be taking that, if not he'll be riding shotgun with me.
Paul is probably going to take his 33 there, be nice to get the 3 red cars I've done together for a photo op!
Be nice to see a few guys there too 8-)

I did ring them today to make sure it's this week as I couldn't remember if it was the last or 2nd last Thursday......after a bit of a conflab the lady said it's this week.... :D fingers crossed it is!

Forgot to take any pictures myself, got chatting to Tom as soon as we got there then Paul and his neighbour Kev so the night went through without me getting much of a look round!

Paul took these pics though, as you can see it gets a very varied turnout of cars turning up.

It's been probably 3 or 4 years since we've been and when we got there the grass bank we used to park on has houses on it!

Parking amongst the trees though was just as good, if not better with the summer sunshine.

Rob couldn't take the Imp this time so came with me in the integrale, which he seemed to enjoy! An old guy was there with a nice early 70's original Imp which he hopes will be there again next month (this month...) when he is going to take his own Imp, the old fella who drove it there was a great guy, as all who turn up to these meets seem to be.

Last Thursday of the month incase anyone wants to have a July ride out......

I'm afraid I've got to mark down the blue elbow in front of the expansion tank!

 lol, there's far worse than that mate :D

never intended the car to be much more than functional, that pipework is for the power steering, bloody new pipe was that stiff I had to use quite a few 90 deg bends rather than try and turn it tight!

Looks great mate.
The pipework on this was a shame as the car was beautiful. I looked at this engine and thought "if only those pipes could have layed better". It was stunning though,
but I am bias and will always have a thing for a 156. :geek:

My old Mother used to say

blue and green should never be seen.

A traditional green engine, deserves traditional black hoses!

IMHO.

The engine compartment is the picture, and should be viewed in its own right.
The body is the frame.

Thats what an artist told me in the pub!

Afraid I don't Lou.

As usual we turned up just about as everyone was thinking of going home, an hour later after chatting to folks near my car we were in danger of not seeing many other cars!

The pictures here are from my mate Paul who was much more organised!

Probably going again at the end of the month as Rob wants to take his Imp so hoping for a ride out in that at last...
