o the AROC SAD has been confirmed as 22nd April 2018 At Duxford. Last time it was here we had a magnificent turnout of Suds, what do you think we could manage this year? A list of interested parties might give us some idea. Pic from 2011.

Good news Tony.
Took mine out for a run last weekend and all seemed well, apart from the blue smoke when she sits still running, then clears her throat. :D

Planning on taking the 33 to Spring Alfa Day on Sunday, hopefully going down with Kev in a small convoy of at least two. Be cool if we got a slightly bigger convoy I guess. Going from Boston, through Peterborough then A1, A14, M11. Not sure what time we will be leaving as yet but open to suggestions for arrival time.

Just a heads up for any 'Sud or Sprint owners going to Spring Alfa Day at Duxford this weekend.

If you arrive in a 'Sud, on entry please ask to be directed to the Alfasud Register parking area. I'll be there to help organise a display of our cars.

Many thanks. See you there!

Will do Colin, see you there.

Paul, I will be getting on the A14 at Thrapston so could meet you and Kev at the Hinchingbrooke Business Park. It is junction 23, or , if you stay on the A1 a bit longer I think you can get on the A14 at 21 ( looking at Google maps). It is a funny junction where the A14 changes direction. I am not sure if there are any services along the rest of the route. Any good ?

Hi Kegsti sounds like a plan and happy to drive to j21 on A1/A14 as I know it well.
Just looking at Google, can you get back on the A14 in the right direction from hitchingbrooke business park or do you have to double back?, as an alternative meeting place could be Brampton hut services Mac Donald's. A1/A14 j21. Happy with either.
I will chat with Kev tomorrow and see about timings etc, being pretty new to these things, is there a time that we have to arrive by at all?

Hi Paul, yes you get on the A14 by going over the part you would be on if you merge straight from the A1 further up.
In effect, you go over and around the big round a bout and turn right, then join the A14. It is weird as technically you join the road you are already on !!
I know that there would be an area I could park and meet you both at that area.
As for time, from there, Duxford is about half an hour away. Don't forget, the earlier you get there you can also see more of the museums. 8-)
Keith.

Thanks Keith.
I think I understand so we will leave Boston at around 8am and come off the A1 at the Brampton hut round a bout and join the A14 and head up to the next round a bout to "rejoin" the A14 and meet you around there somewhere at the business park or between the Thrapston and A14 junction, do you have a post code?, at around 9.15 - 9.30 if that's okay.
Kev 8ish at mine if all good.
We should be at Duxford by 10ish then I guess.

Hi Paul, yes, Brampton hut junction will put you on the A14 the same as me.
The business park is on the right just before the big round a bout we will use.
As you will then be coming from the same direction, if I see a safe area on the left to park up I will do that. Kev has my mobile if you need it. I will leave a similar time as It will take me about 45 minutes to get there. Sounds like a plan :D

Lol, reminds me I must check the oil on the TS...

In fact I've not driven it for about a month so I'll give it a check over Saturday afternoon ;)

The thing with the TS is that you don't see it using any oil. None of mine ever smoked. It will be fine. I hadn't run the Sud since November apart from the odd start and it drove fine. :D

I'm hoping mine should be fine as I did a trip to work and back the other week having been in the garage all winter.
But will check the oil before we go, as it did use a bit on the Italy trip.

Offer still stands mate, if it doesn't get any offers to save it then I'll step up to the plate, no problem.

Just see if anyone takes up the car first, don't want to appear greedy!

did check the oil tonight, still on max....despite me not using it  :D

Took it for a little run out tonight to free the rust from the discs, only to remember that it sat all winter without me re-attaching the heater cable that I'd manually set to the Hot position....might have to sort that tomorrow afternoon :)

Good pics Colin, thanks for sharing here ;)
I didn't take any, usual amount of preparedness for me meant I forgot my camera

Good to meet up with you all today as I've not been to a big meet for a year or two, Paul very much enjoyed the 33 as I did in the 145.
The little blast down the A14 (?) following the 33 with Keith up front in his Sud made me think that we almost had the history of the boxer engine in a 3 car convoy...apart from my 145 is a TS and not a boxer...but you get what I mean :D

Home to a forehead resembling a radish, maybe I should have worn the hat I took
