Time for the summer Great Northern night?

Post by Fiatchris »

Hi all , is it about time for a pizza and trainspotting at the Northern?
Unless I have been ex-communicated as I no longer have a Sud? ;)
Actually looking in attic and shed I could probably make another one!!!! Must sort spares out!

:D Clearly i'm in!

It has changed management yet again, but they are equally accommodating to a car meet evening etc.

In fact Julian was only saying the same last week, overdue for a spring/summer catch up.

Who's game and when?

All being well I should be there with the 33 on Thursday if all still on. I so enjoy driving it so any excuse to get in it. Do we have an ETA?

Indeed it was mate.

Good little meet that was, great to see Paul's 33 in the flesh, lovely!

And a couple of first time cars from old time owners too, keeps it interesting eh :P

Yep great to catch up and have a chat with all there, putting faces to names.
Great to see Phil's Giulia. And interesting chat regards first Alfa experiences too. Enjoyable evening.
Another little test run for the 33, 100 mile + round trip and this time with Aaron proper prep for the father son Italy trip although I think he may get fed up with my 80's cassettes!!!

I have to say that i cant stomach "Lady in Red" much myself either these days!

My cassette collection was replaced a long time ago, but i seem to recall the last decent ones were Brothers in Arms, and a Joyce Sims album!

Maybe one of those cassette / iphone auxiliary input things is the answer, or a tasteful cd player installed under dash, seat, glove box?

Ha Ha Lady in red indeed! I'll have you know The best of Chris De Burgh is a classic, that I do not own, not sure why, oh yes I remember!!!

And yes I will be getting one of the phone receiver type thingies that plugs into your phones ear phone jack and then is tuned to a radio station so your radio just picks up the signal and plays your tunes.

But at this time I am happy listening to the attic collection including Depeche Mode, Japan, Simple minds and of course one or two Numan tapes too.
Oh and yes lets not forget to listen that rasp of the exhaust note, singing Alfa in red.

I'm with you on the tunes selection,

Just not sure how the tapes might sound after all these years!
