It's that time of year again. Thursday 23rd June!

Post by Sud 145 »

Hi guys. Once again we're heading towards my fishing week at Woodhall Spa. The date this year is Sat June 18 - 24 so any evening that week would be good for a "Noggin and Natter", if you'll have me....

Hi all

well, i know you come up here to fish in our fine waters Tony, but surely a bit of classic alfa racing would be far more interesting? ;)

Sunday June 19th, should see the likes of Simon's Trofeo, alongside Malcolm's Sud SC, Tims Sprint i believe, and many more, lining up at Donnington for their classic race series, so how about a trip up there?

We could meet up with you around my way, possibly Kevs etc and then go up to Donnington for a day of racing and chit chat etc etc?

Retiring back at the Great Northern Inn if you so desire of course? :D

I'm at cadwell park that weekend with the hscc.

I'm not sure Simon will be at Donington either so best check just in case.

Hi guys although both of those venues sound a fantastic idea unfortunately this holiday isn't all about me. My Dad is 91 years old and this is the highlight of his year so as you can probably appreciate I can do an evening meet but can't really steal a whole day off of him. Hope you see my point? Tony

Wow, 91 is a good innings.

I'd like to join you on the fishing, peace and quiet and fresh air. I never caught anything big when fishing as a kid, mostly skimmers and roach. I reckon I once landed a 2lb tench, but that's about it.

Have a great trip, and post some pics of your catch.

Kev - it is the wolds trophy on sat and sun. I'm looking forward to it and hopefully no rain .

No problem Tony, i get that wholeheartedly mate.

We'll do the usual Great Northern Inn one evening shall we?

Or,

How about a fish and chips meeting at The Big Fish, Ollerton?

Myself and Kev have threatened that one a time or two previously, but folk may still prefer the pub environment this time round?

The Great Northern would be my choice Shrew, more comfortable for mixed company and easy parking.

I'll ask, but its not something the new landlady has taken onboard yet.

I think the last guy might have left with the pizza oven under his shirt! :D

She'll do something for us i'm sure if i ask ever so nicely this evening, or we can have a proper sit down pub grub if you prefer?

Chris, its a five minute job and you know it, drama queen! ;)

So, Thursday 23rd June, at the Great Northern Inn, Carlton on Trent , NG23 6NT , as soon as you like, but if you want food certainly sooner the better as it happens to coincide with quiz night so the staff are pretty busy!

If anyone would like a proper sit down pub grub plate of food, say so and i'm in for sure! :D
