Site Requests...

Post by its_welshy »

Hey, I don't go on forums much, but would it be possible to do the following on this site Shrew:

1) increase the number of posts per page, it's annoying have 15 posts across 3 pages... We're not on dial-up anymore!

2) Add a location to of member to posts... I don't want to engage in conversation with any of you northern types ;)

Hi chap

If you go to edit you profile ,you can add your location . Some people add it some don't ! I would prefer if people did .so you can see where everybody is ;)

Ayeup Welshy

I know what you mean, depending on the average size per contribution, a page is soon gone wthin a few lines worth!

Ive upped it to 30 posts pet page, so we'll see how it appears like that eh.

Good suggestion, thanks mate, always worth at least asking isnt it.

As for locations, I actually want a full members map eventually, but the add on to our php software finished a while ago and hasn't yet been replaced with anything.

I've got my man looking in to linking across to Google maps somehow, so its in the pipeline, but not something well likely see too soon I'm afraid.

If anyone hears or knows of how else it might be done, I'm all ears? I love the idea personally.

All the best

I have a query. I may have seen it posted before so apologies if this has been done to death.

My iPad does not retain my login status whereas my PC does. Consequently I have to login in every time I use the iPad regardless of how I set the flags on the login screen.

Any suggestions?

Steve, if you setup iCloud Keychain, it will remember all your passwords and details for forms and things

I'm currently testing software on Android, iOS and Windows Mobile... iOS is streets ahead of all of them. But it personal preference of what you're used to.

In terms of deploying viruses, malicious software, android is the easiest. I certainly wouldn't be comfortable using one.

Apple users always get defensive don'y they?

How long did it take to crack the last I pad Justin, i think it was a new record wasn't it?

Trouble with most android users is that just like my kids, most folk just agree to everything that comes on screen, and have no idea at all what theyve just allowed to install on their device or what permissions it will want, so long as the on screen message disappears rapid fashion, and they get their next must have warped face screechy voice angry turtle vs zombie minature flashlight App as quickly as possible!

Besides, i'm like that old bloke in the tv advert, with the flask in his garage next to the allegro, "Modern cars don't enjoy the benefit of a choke start system!"

I bet he doesn't have an Iphone either! ha ha!

Welshy,

Update: my iPad is supposedly up to date on IOS 7.0.1 and keychain is only active in iOS 7.0.3 Ah, well. There are apps I can use so I will investigate further.
