Absolutely ... but in the nicest possible way .. :)

So .... given Shrew mentioned the word polish .. and that its a smashing day .. I decided to give my car .. ( not mentioning the number .. err umm ) a good clean .. I shall spare you details ..

Anyway .. it appears I have a slight issue ... during the washing procedure I realised that the rear passenger window wasn't fully in the up position .. well it seems that my motor is on a go slow ... and also that I now have a significant amount of water in the rear foot well .... :( so my afternoon is going to be taken up stripping the door panel ... so I can have a gander at what the issue may be .. see I do attempt things my self .. so I'm not out of water on here ...

There is something to be said and What I wouldnt give for windy up windows right now ....

Perhaps you might get me in one of the Classics yet! And that might be sooner rather than later if I chuff me car ...

hahahahahahahahaha

Well look... I actually feel you, because its been raining for the past 2 days here, heavily I may add, and I've been driving a 1986 Spider S3 QV !

All well and lovely, lots of dirty looks (in the good sense), some from men as well  , but it turns out that the halfwit that worked on the car before me forgot to put back the nylon weatherproof covers behind the door cards.

As a result to that, all the rain that falls from the windows down through the door, gets caught up in the pull buckets that are on the door cards and go inside the door when closed, they get filled up, and start spilling the water in the floor panels of the car, creating wonderful ponds for fish to play in

However, me not been a valeting expert, and surely not knowing what hoover to use, I took the car to a professional and he is taking care of it as we speak :)

The treatment involves:
- sucking up all the water
- shampooing the carpet stuff
- general internal cleaning with numerous products that smell like bubble gum (i have no idea what they use but I want to eat the car afterwards)
- washing (fairy liquid ????)
- rubbing down with a paste ...thing... looks like kids plaster (actually that might be it)
- compound (makes the car all dull and dusty)
- polish (I know there are at least a million different polish products. I suspect they all come from Poland anyway)
- something called "opti coat" which makes the shiny car from Poland even shiny-er
- and wax !

Then they will put some shiny stuff on the wheels, and some other stuff on the rubber trim in order to cure??? (no matter how many times I've done that to mine, it seems every time I take it, my rubber trims need to cure ! I cant understand when they get hurt in the first place :| )

So there !

I believe we covered all the wash and wax products today 8-)

Blimey .. not sure where to start on that one! ...

But admitting you get dirty looks from men .. I dont think you should have admitted to that .. for what ever reason .. I have some rather funny thoughts in my head now ..

Sounds like its going to cost you a fair bit for todays session! ;) and I think pictures are in order later ... :D

So .. I have a dilemma ... the window is now in the up position .. not quite sure what I did .. I just fiddled with the switch up and down a few times .. goes down fast enough .. but the travel up is painfully slow :( .. and is not leaking either .. bonus! .. so .. do I leave it alone or attempt the dismantle ... ? Leaving alone seems to be winning .. all I know is .. once I start to have a play .. then it may get stuck in the open position and I am as I said chuffed ...

most probably, but Shrew is right. use silicon spray, and on a good day start playing with it up and down.
If its only the runners, it will start working a treat :)

Oh Chris you go too far!

incidentally, do you suffer with bad days then Chris, when no amount of playing with it or silicon spray will get it up and down?

Why Thank you very much !!! :)

I'd trying my best not to do what everybody else does on facebook.
Most people usually disappear on their birthday and come back the next day, clearing up with a "Thank you ALL for your wishes"

Well, to comment on your weekend note, it's been a long weekend...

Easter Holidays, lots of coming and going from and to relatives and family meets,
packing and unpacking stuff
loading and unloading the car
and running after a hyper 2 year old

... oh and of course... lots of eating :D
