My Sud 1.5 ti restoration

Post by sud_1.5ti »

This is where all have gone. ;-) Great to see some names i already know from the "other" forum.
My name is Jan, i'm from germany and actually restoring a sud 1.5 ti from 1983. Bodywork is done, paint is on and the engine is back in the car and running. Hope to have her on the road this summer. Will post some pictures later as i dont know how to do it with the ipad.

I have some parts that i do not need anymore. Doors for both sides, Tailgates, bonnets, seats, bodytrim...
If anyone is intested, please let me know.
A nice evening to all on here and best regards
Jan

verrrrry nice job.

can i ask what the paint finish is in the wheel arch?

it looks like the E Coat you get after a dip strip, but i don't think it is, if you know what i mean!

thanks shrew,
paint in the wheelarches is usual black stone chip protection. the paint shop put it on.
we planned to put a coat of wax on it and the some inner wings from for protection.
shall i ask what the name of the manufacturer is?

fuel tank back under the car, rear axle too.
i bought a set of new springs from a guy who sold them to me as lowered springs for a sud.
i fitted them and i'm not sure if they are too short.
can anyone of the sud specialists on here tell me if this is "driveable" or are the too short?
thakns for your help.

Nice work, particularly the chassis leg and struts, where did you get those nice clear indicator lenses from?

hi there

yes they are 15 x 8, with an inset if i recall of about 110mm.

currently they are wearing 205 50 15 tyres, but side by side with a different brand 225, they are just as wide!

and if you thought they were wide, wait till you see the Revolutions! ha ha! :o

lowering was taken care of with custom built Gaz coilovers, but the overall height is very similar to that of my other Sud ti which has Koni inserts and what i believe are BLS race springs from back in the day.

John at Justsuds is producing a similar spring set now i think, give him a whirl if you need to firm it up and get down low!
