Thanks H i thought they looked a big wheel, iv never seen a 17 on a sud before am not suprised you had to extend the arches. I asked as am looking at changing the wheels on mine for something with a higher offset than Ronal A1's iv got on now and am wondering whether to go for 13's 14's or 15's

Love the colour of your sud by the way, look forward to seeing it at MITCAR next year??

Thanks Col - MITCAR Someday has become my motto

Will be nice to get her on the road though, with no more hassles of relying on spray painters and vinyl wrap "specialists" - will have to take some pics of the carbon dipping I had done to replace the crappy vinyl, So much better and cheaper too (if you don't get some idiots doing the vinyl wrap first and go straight to the dippers).

Good luck with the wheels, don't forget Image - they have some nice (but expensive) wheels and can do any offset you want.

Hi Jan, It's been so long - I'm sure it's
Verde Matese ALF 232
It was the colour of my dad's first 1.2 Ti S1

With a lot of help from Kev and Shrew (and two paint shops LOL)

HELP :o
I've fitted the amplifier, the speakers / boom box and altered the dash to suit the new Kenwood double din sat nav blur tooth thing that also plays music :D
Phoned the ICE man to tell him its ready to wire up :D

Last minute though I'd better charge the "new" battery that I've used once but is now over 4 years old.

Yep you guessed it won't except a charge - no worries though as I think I need a higher capacity one to fed the amp and the rally lights.

QUESTION IS how big a battery can you fit in a sud ?? - me thinking I need one from a diesel to get the amps required ??

I also want to fit a strut brace so this would affect the height ??

Oh on final thing - he's coming around this week :o
Thanks in advance

H,
If it helps, I have a 62Ah 600 battery on my JTD (1.9). It measures 10" x 7" and 7 3/4 " tall.
My Sud's one measures 8" x 7" and 8" tall.
A quick measure looks as if it would just squeeze into my Sud and would be similar height.

Hi Kieth, that sounds really great as the wife has a 147 JTD, wonder if she'll notice.
I haven't got the battery box or the "air / heater collector" ( that great big plastic bit) in but I'm sure there was some room length ways from memory, are the pos and negs the right way around ??

Thanks

Didn't know you have a JTD as well. Should be the same as mine.

Hi Kieth, I measured the wife's and hers is 11 inches long, so that got me worried.
I've been on the internet and found a 80 amp but is 190mm tall not 175mm so maybe going for a 70 amp 278mm x 175mm x 175mm from Eurocars which is down the road from me which means I can hopefully take it back if its too long.

The "standard" Sud ones are only 45 amp max so the new one should cope :D

Thanks for your help.

H, fit whatever battery you can and don't worry about the strut brace.

If any of the stock ones foul your modified battery etc, i'll build you a custom one from either polished stainless or i could powder coat it something wild for you! :D

Went for the 278 x 175 x 175 one in the end - only 70 amps but it does fit and should be low enough for what I believe might be a Shew yellow or red powder coated strut brace :D

Just a thought could i get it carbon'd dipped ? can't see why not as long as it doesn't get submerged :? Does look a bit crap being grey!

I heartily approve of your colour choice :D

And I love the tints and split-rims, you will easily be able to out-pose a row of Golfs, which is as it should be!

If your sound system displaces enough air, you should be able to pop the sunroof open. I saw it done at a custom car show the other year...

Hi All, just to let you know I'm alive and well.
It's a long story but I'm now down to 3 alfa's after a year of trying to start a business with someone I thought was an honest bloke.
Good news is the 75 and the 33 went to good homes (even if the 33 cost me 3 times as much as I sold her for).
Other good news is that I have now got a Phase 1 916 Spider which is quite a blast (its a TS not a V6 though).

Having found another job I'm starting to get back to the Sud but I can't remember the Woolies part number for the window seal on the top of the Doors (I had ordered the wrong ones before).
Can anyone please let me know what the proper number is please.
Also lost some of the parts for the Audi TT wing mirrors (buying another two on ebay as we speak (Shrew i will need the painted one off you if you still have it ???).

Will keep you updated and hopefully she will be on the road before winter :D
