Hi everyone
Discovered I have knackered valve guides and valves on my old 8V. Anyone know where to get new valve guides / valves from?
Any suggestions on why this might have happened and any remedies for the cause?
Good quality oil always used and changed regularly
Oil seals on inlets only but inlets worse than exhaust.
Guides made from brass.Rsfruitbat
Running FD22 came
Revved to 8000rpm regularly
Thanks. Rsfruitbat

Re: Valve guides
I can't explain why your guides are knackered, however I'm a bit confused as to why they are brass. As far as I know they should be cast iron inlets & bronze exhausts (same as on V6). Later engines have cast iron at both locations as the bronze guides wore out early (same as V6). All this from memory, others may correct me!
Inlet and exhaust are identical, p/n 60750222. 16v guides are different.
Alfa Restoration have new CI guides, I just bought a set but had to wait a week for a restock. They have to be reamed after installation so not a diy job really unless you are proficient with a hand held reamer of the right size. Inlets should have seals, exhausts ex factory didn't have them (I believe) but I guess you can fit them if you want to. Alfa restoration have seals as does Sudshop. If you don't have any joy with Alfa Restoration, you can try Alfa-Service but they are low on stock (whatever that means). Alfa-Onlineshop.de also have them, but they are expensive.
John @ justsuds hasn't got any, before you ask.
