Is it possible to remove the steel oil fill pipe from the alloy rear engine cover? It appears to be pressed in BUT it's also possible that one of the rear cover studs is screwed in far enough to hold the pipe in place.

A bit of heat on the aluminium rear cover is generally enough to free it, - it doesn't need to be massively hot !
