Morning all,

Ive been told that Sud Supers all had brown dashboards?
Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

Car is Posillipo blue with a brown carpet. but has a black dashboard and door cards.
It also has the bluey grey background dials and chrome stalks

Hi All
Same car, different "opportunity".
Can anyone advise on the best place to find a reasonably accurate wiring diagram?
Going through the various iterations none of them seems accurate. I can find bits of them which seem correct but in the main none of them inspire any confidence.
Any suggestions

Hi everyone
Just resurrecting this thread
Still got this car. Ended up doing a load of engine bay paintwork. Not from rust but previous owner had coated it with something and it looked awful.
Just started to refit wiring and starting to sort out drive train.
Got a 1350 single carb to go in but if the mood takes me could fit anything.
Once it's working and reliability is to offer it for sale to make room for my next project, resurrecting an Alfa Sprint Trofeo.
Will try and start posting a bit more regularly and share the challenges!!!

Good to hear you have persisted with it. Sounds like a lot more work than you originally thought ?

It certainly has been. It was supposed to be a quick flip.
My problem is i f I'm not happy with something I can't ignore it.
That's why it's ended up being a complete mechanical strip and rebuild. The good thing is the shell is really solid.
Not that technically minded but if I can sort out posting photos your wish will be My command.

So is the twin carb engine a 1.7 ?.
Would that head be ok with new valves and guides or would there be other damage?
Looks the same colour my Sud started out with.

Thanks Loo๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

The car came with a 1.7 twin carb that hadn't run in 20yrs. Turned over ok though. It was only when I tried to time everything up to do the chambers I found out timing was all wrong. Took the head off and found the bent valves.
At the moment plan is to put a single carb 1350 back in. I have the option of 1490 fast road engine, 1600 rally engine, 1712 8 valve. I've probably got enough bits to build a 16v if someone was that keen.

Hi all
Quick update.
Electrics parked at the moment whilst I sort out engine.
1350 engine I had turned out needed a rebuild. Bores worn so new pistons, block chemical dip to clean all the gunk out and a light skin on both heads and faces to give the new head gaskets the best chance. Luckily crank was ok so just had a polish and going to fit new bearings.
Got most of the parts back now so starting the reassembly process.
Block painted and awaiting new core plugs.
Lapping valves in then fitting cams into cam carriers then onto heads.
Once those done bottom end to be assembled.

I did contact the seller about those but he couldn't tell whether they are std or not. I had no luck with the part number.

Hi All
Quick update.
Had a bit of a nightmare last weekend.Fitted crank into the block. Came to put new pistons onto con rods and realised that the new pistons didn't have any circlip grooves.
Ended up having to go back to My machine shop and they put some circlip groove s in for me.s
Got them back yesterday so managed to build rest of bottom end built up.
While pistons were away thought I would have a look at cleaning the carb. It's a twinchoke solex.
First thing was the choke butterfly was bent. Looked like some bits were missing. Spindles didn't look brilliant. Having had a chat with Lou she had a replacement she was happy to part with. Thanks Lou.
Plan is to source a rebuild kit just in case.
Next step is to continue building the engine up and get it installed.
