P4 Front Suspension

Hi Guys

Two questions:
1. Is the front suspension on a P4 the same as a regular 33?
2. Can one still get Koni's for it?

We have had new springs made for the front (slightly lower and much stiffer) and now really need some adequate shock absorbers.

Yes front suspension the same as a standard FWD 33 Not sure if you can still buy new off the shelf inserts but have seen new old stock koni inserts come up from time to time which is fine if you have good bodies for them to go in to if you haven't good luck finding some good bodies are line hens teeth

GAZ built me some struts for the rallycar. They just need some donor struts for the steering arms and the mounting plates.
I know at some point on the S3 they went from 4 point fixing to 3 on the strut top.

You got it! I think they were all the very late Imola cars and done away with the bearing in the lower spring platform I believe ??

Hi, sharing this here so it can be found with an internet search:

Front suspension of alfa 33 S3 had these steps:

- from 1989-10: 4 bolts system
> coils 321 mm
> coils 311 mm on 33 Q.V.
(> other specific coils on 33 TD)

- from 1991-06-15: 4 bolts system lowered height
> lowered 311 mm coils are used on all the petrol versions (probably also some "Imola 1" )

- from "car 5455777", probably it means from 1993-01 (?): 3 bolts system
> conical coils 321mm (used also on "Imola 3" , it stays 10mm higher at front than previous )
> conical coils 311 mm only on Q.V.
(> other specific conical coils on 33 TD)
