Worn wiper spindles - solution

Post by StescoG66 »

Hopefully today I can contribute something back instead of constantly asking for help.
Later wiper spindles, with the arm held on with a nut, apparently well known for wearing and the spindle spinning in the arm. Worked out a solution which for me at least works a charm.
Got an insert for the arm 3D printed. The inner hole tapered to suit the spindle.
Outer diameter 10mm with a 16mm flange at the widest end of the taper.
Drill out the spindle hole on the arm to 10mm then bond in the insert.
Once bonding has set, drill and tap to 3mm and secure with grub screw.
Pics attached, hope of some help. 😉
