What tappet clearance am I supposed to set on a 1.5 Green Clover Leaf engine (105 hp) with shimmed tappets?
My Haynes manual says 0.7 for these engines against 0.35mm-0.40mm inlet and 0.45mm-0.50mm exhaust for the earlier engines.
I have lapped in all the valves and need to reset them but I have also seen it suggested that the earlier values are correct.
Does anybody have the 'correct' answer?
Thanks for any help.
Chris.

Don’t believe the Haynes manual !
The 35-40 intake and 45-50 is definitely correct

I understand my mistake!
When checking the opening and closing angles of the cam shafts I think you use 0.7mm opening of the valve as a reference point. That has got nothing to do with tappet settings!
I just miss-understood what I was reading.
Thanks for the clarification.
