Torque steer
Torque steer
I feel like I have to pull off more gently than I would have thought normally necessary to avoid torque steer ! Especially as it's only the 1351cc ,is there any thing that could be worn out that contributes to this ? Ta
Re: Torque steer
I remember torque steer on all of mine, less so on the 1298cc one with just 70bhp if I remember right.
Th s3 33 we had also did it.
Is the geometry all spot on, toe etc ? Std size wheels an tyres? Shocks an springs all good ?
Interestingly my racer doesn’t really do it, but the low and hard suspension might help.

Re: Torque steer
Agree with V6. Don't really get it in the rallycar.
I thought with the equal length driveshafts the Sud layout wasn't very prone to it?

Re: Torque steer
Worn or loose engine mtgs,
Weird offset wheels tracking and ride height. All these can lead to torque steer. The sud could be prone to it if you started to mess with anything to do with suspension geometry.
Remember the Sud was initially designed for. 1186cc (68hp)
The height of the engine and gearbox in the body shell can play a big part in it aswell.

Re: Torque steer
Worn out shoulders contribute to it on mine!
Re: Torque steer
It does seem very harsh over potholes, as if the front shocks are sticky at the top of there travel ,especially accelerating from a stop , as if it's to light at the front, topping out . Better with the chubby missus in , but I prefer driving alone lol
