P4 Wheel Alignment Spec?

Post by alfettagtam »

Does anyone have the wheel alignment spec for a P4? Is it different from a regular 33?

I've got the 4wd reconnected for the first time since we bought it. So excited! New tyres on some original P4 wheels but want to be sure that it's set up right.

This is for the 33 16v S3 it doesn’t specifically mention P4 but I’m pretty sure it’s the same If you can cross check with your info next week Kev .

It's a 92.

I've been talking with my son (and co-owner) over the weekend and now we're not sure whether someone has been monkeying around with the suspension - and whether that means the correct specs will be wrong. It looks lowered at the front and raised at the back. Could be someone has put a standard 33 lowering kit on it. I'll take a photo and upload.

That’s the std stance for P4s they always looked looked high at the back and low at the front. And they drove like nothing in the drive train lined up properly .

Here's the photo. So this is standard?

I'm loving the way it feels with the 4wd - yes there's all the juddering on tight maneouvering, braking, ... but I punted it around a tight corner and it just pulled out of the corner obviously pushing with all 4 wheels!

Other things before checking are filling the fuel tank & also check what load is needed in the car - it’s stated in the spec with weight bags in the seats and foot wells

Turns out there was something wrong with the front struts. Have had them "rebuilt" with parts that were in storage and now the struts don't move sideways is you rock the car - and the front is sitting at about the same height as the back! (photos to come).

I have a small weld to do on the exhaust - where the four come in to one - then I can have it back on the road - and will be taking all this info down to the wheel alignment people.
