The other thing to remember Chris. If you remove your headlamps Be careful they are very hard to find these days so don’t drop them

Will do - I’m discovering that most parts of a Sprint are very hard to find these days!

There are 2 good sources for Sprint parts in the Netherlands, but then the shipment costs are an additional burden of course.

Thanks - appreciate it.

Another small problem solved, courtesy of Ebay - fog light covers! Now to clean and recolour them.

If I might ask, what are you using to lift your car in those pictures? Looks interesting! :)

Oh, and welcome BTW :D

I wish I knew! It's basically a portable electro-hydraulic lift, with a piston the size of Geoff Capes' leg and built like a Soviet era tank. Its on wheels and can be pushed around and will lift 3 tons but has no makers details anywhere on it. Ebay bargain!

Darn! I don't suppose you'd like to post some more pictures of it?

I'd be interested to see the 'working parts'...Google can't see anything quite like it.

This Italian - built "Panther" lift is similar but bigger and more unwieldy.

We tried a Panther first but this one is better, more solid and has a smaller footprint. It's old and scruffy but works brilliantly!

One up, one down! I don't have any closeups of it at the moment but can take some for you if you like?

Thanks for that AlfaNut :)

I see how it works now, never seen one like that before.

Hi everyone, how has your year gone overall? Slightly challenging like mine? :D
Most of the spa re time I would previously have devoted to car tinkering has gone into keeping my business afloat and the family occupied. Looking forward to a better year ahead.

Quick update on my Sprint: I have decided to keep the engine currently fitted and get it back into excellent shape, rather than embarking on a secondary quest for more power / upgrading / replacing the motor, which will undoubtedly mean the car won’t be drivable for several more months!

The plan now is to repair the floor sections, service the engine, fit some of the interior which is sitting in a box and get the car MOT’d in time for the Spring sunshine.
After it is roadworthy, then renovate the scruffy parts of the interior and perhaps get the dodgy paintwork improved or even redone.

Thats enough to be going on with!
Merry Christmas everyone

PS I also got a complete set of replacement fuel pipes from Sud Shop and very pleased with the quality and attention to detail.

Very wise choice re engine IMO Chris.
My lock up is beyond where I can legally travel to during the higher levels of lockdown
here in the Republic of Ireland. As an advertising sales man, income is down too so in
fairness the car/hobby fund was hit a little but not lots.
I've fettled a few of my fleet to a decent extent this year so overall I'm a happy bunny
