Dizzy pipe valve ?

Post by Splant »

Reassembling stuff and unsure which way pipe went! Is the plastic thingy on the distributor advance pipe a one way valve ? (mine blows through either way but unsure if one ways easier) , same on the servo pipe as well!. Also my labels I had on all the engine wires at smudged to buggery! Does the thicker alternator one go to middle terminal on alternator and to the main live nut on starter motor at the other end? Cheers all.

On the dissy advance pipe, the metal one way valve has an arrow pointing to the carb.......lightly sand the face and look carefully.
On the servo, the plastic one way valve has an arrow pointing to the manifold......easily seen.
Regarding the wiring.....don't have a clue!
Did you take photos before you stripped it?

Cheers, neh no photos ,it's just started after 25 years ok though , so must have got wires right , it's so quiet though wondering if there's a mouse nest up the exhaust, I was expecting a bit of a sporty rasp!

Waiting on thicker gear oil be delivered as halfshafts leaking, brakes working but still a lot of travel even with new master cylinder? They don't pump up higher ,so can't see it's my bleeding technique.

Set to on the rear silencer with an angle grinder see why it was so quiet, cut the tailpipe off and could see when the tailpipe was put for Welding in it was put in at an angle and was cutting off about a third of the bore ! Sounding better now I've cut it out ,that was a walkers back box .
