Excessive brake travel

Post by Splant »

I've bled it properly it doesn't pump up any higher so can't be air in it, no leaks anywhere but pedal travels to far, I've read about ate rear brake calipers on astras that if the retaining clip is put in upside down it retracts the piston too much ? Could this be it ? I've the thicker part at the top. could it be that I hadn't attached handbrake cable to lever yet ? Could it be with swapping to earlier rear discs? Also are the master cylinders interchangeable in case it's that? Also can someone confirm which pipes go where on the master? I've the 2 ports at the end feeding front left and rear, and the first port in the middle to the right/ drivers side ,( plus all the crossover pipes on both fronts of course) I've a benditalia on at the moment . Thanks, p.s. Also I've never understood how the pads/pistons automatically adjust over time when they're held in place by the adjusters ? Unless the piston turn on the threads.
