Sprint finally gone for its respray.

Post by Pete Jennings »

My sprint cloverleaf has finally gone in for its respray.
Excited really doesn't cover it...
Been overhauling it for the last 4 years.... and now it's taxed... motd and soon will be all red again.... with no rust.... several new old stock panels .... when I have fitted it all back up it will be like I was 18 again... ( this very car was my first car and I have owned for 26 years
Happy days.
Peter

Fantastic Peter, I’m as excited as you to see it. What year and model is it?

Cheers,

Ed

It is a red 1983 sprint green cloverleaf. On an A reg.
1490cc 105bhp with the weber carbs not the delortos.
And Bosch ignition .
Standard car on the 14" speedlines.i changed to the 14" version of these wheels, it had the 340 metric rims on it back in 1993 when I bought it... but not only were the metric tyres poison to buy but the 340 mm wheels look a little small.... although I must admit I would like another set for originality... I have one wheel with a nice trx on it... might make into a coffee table.

It's an early series 3 with the cast alloy cam covers and single lobe cams..... but retaining the alfasud discs around.
I have a set of koni adjustable dampers on it that I fitted only a couple of years before I took it off the road..( I stopped using it daily in 2000.

Looks great. When I got mine back from the paint shop I was nearly as excited as when my first child was first born! :D
