Well I used a plastic primer and then built the colour up by applying about 4 layers. It was Halfords finest satin black, got through 3 x500ml cans!

That does a look fine job well done,

but i'll let you know of a trade paint called Plasbak.

its purpose designed for that kind of plastic bumper and bodytrim colour and adhesion, and works a treat with very little build up.

the end result is pretty much the same, so well done again, nice work :D

Ah, thanks Shrew. Where can you get it from, trade outlets? Tempted to do the front bumper although it's not too bad.

By the way, I'm looking to replace the back box with another Ansa Marmitte exhaust, are they still available?

Cheers!

Hi mate

Plasbak is available at most proper auto paint stores, but if you don't have one on your laocal industrial estate, ebay will provide as always!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PLASBAK-BLACK ... 27d19c0fd6

as for the back box thing, i've no idea if the csc is still available i'm afraid.

the website often claims available stock when sadly the truth is somewhat different i hear from other folk quite often.

i think you'd be better off with a stainless steel fabricated back box tailored to your taste, car, fit, and volume requirements personally, but then i would wouldn't I? lol!

is there an exhaust fabricator you could enquire with local to you instead? you'll probably save a load of time and possibly some money too believe it or not, and the end result "should" be far better in my opinion.

Thinks for the link Shrew, I'll get some ordered. There's a guy who does fabricate exhausts nearby so I'll see what he thinks. This car is shaping up very nicely!

I'll bring her down to say goodbye to her poorly sibling! Going to paint some trim on the 1.7 today, the awkward one that runs along the roof and along the screen pillar...it's all faded and chipped at the moment...

I was looking forward to see this today.........12 hours and no Sud to play with. The rac sent 2 roadsiders to look at the Vw t25 camper but still had to be recovered which was another 90 min wait so spent 4hrs at the side of the M6 but did get 5 miles close with trying to see if it was sorted.......so did 107 miles before I had problems which it had done it on the my home with Sud on the trailer
