Wiper motor retrieval

Post by Sprint88qv »

Hmm... followed the Haynes manual procedure says and it ends with undo this and that and then ‘juggle out the wiper motor and linkage assembly together’.....

Any tips on how to juggle it out of a rhd Sprint? Mine seems reluctant to come out, one or other of the wiper spindles seem to foul the scuttle...?

As Haynes say.... refitting is just a reversal of removal. FFS!!!!!

Damn, planned on doing this myself this weekend. Thought it would be easy.

My wipers are super slow so thinking a bit of cleaning up would help.

If you come up with the magic juggle let me know!

Thanks for the advice, I’ll keep “juggling” ........but now worried I won’t be able to perfect the “reverse juggle” and be left with no wipers and 2 holes in the front scuttle for eternity :-(

Brussels, it’s super simple up to the “juggling” point.

With my racer I only had half the wipers and it came out easily. So then I wondered about how to get a full set in, but it was quite easy `juggling' as you can fully see what your up too. Good luck.

It’s out! It wasn’t that bad in the end. The knack seemed to be to twist the motor upwards (so spindles roll back towards the dashboard) and then bring the drivers side spindle our first, just scrapping over the relay and fuse box.

So once refurbished, just hope I can get it back in again :-)
