bumperless

Post by brussels »

Hi - is anyone running their late sprint without bumpers? ive had them off whilst doing some work and its looks good - a bit retro racer. Or, crazy idea in case of a bump? or even legal, road worthiness issues?

I like no bumpers on Sud's and sprints.

You don't have to fit bumpers for road use. If I was fitting any I'd use the skinny chrome ones. However I wouldn't fit any.

Here's mine again just to help you make the right decision :D

They do look good without them! Is that a spoiler on the front?

Still have a nagging fear of knocking something, maybe some sort of bumperette like the fiat spiders have? But sold on it anyway, I don't want to fully take the plunge and fill the bumper holes. Might try and find some sort of grommet or something that be sprayed the body colour - any ideas?

And forgot to ask, the front lips/spoilers most those track cars have - what car are they off?

The front spoiler was fitted to the series 1 Sprint from the factory.

I wouldn't worry about filling the holes, just leave them open.

Don't fit quarter bumpers, they won't suit it.

Ok, just suds John has the part! Will take a while for me to get it sprayed etc but will post a pic when done. First comes the new wheels courtesy of shrew, the exhaust from just suds then I need to get it tuned.

I'm being closely observed by the Mrs.... She's noticed the extra expenditure....

Ah yes, that I'm afraid is one of the symptoms of owning this type of car. It also only gets worse too.

Best to resort to having a special secret account and then blaming the endless packages arriving on "meant for the neighbour.....don't worry, I'll just take it round to them" and then quickly stashing it in the garage!

Or, isn't Ebay great!

Would you believe they supplied and delivered that brand new pair of brake calipers (etc etc) in that huge box all the way from Peru for a tenner!

I wonder how do they make any money?

It's probably organised gangs using the supply of car parts to launder money!

I bought Matt's 33 and parked it at the end of our road.
Two days later I said to her - that looks a nice car !
2 days after that I parked it on our drive and told her it was a bargain :D

Now I have 5 cars and the missus wants to kill me

Moderators just don't let them log on here

Sorry haven't been on here for a while but work and family all looking good now - can't wait for the shows to start.
