New door offered up for the first time . Not too shabby it’s got a couple of small storage dings and it needs a little bit of tweaking to get the fit spot on but nothing that can’t be dealt with at the bodywork stage.

Btw The front wing Is loose. That’s why the panel gap is so far out. The Next bus due through that gap is the 16.35 to Stoke

Also got a big prezzie coming that will help with progress in the bodywork

Hi Lol
Splash guards look good. Did you use mudflap material? Which side should they go? wheel side or engine side of car flitch?

Hi Ade. They fit on the engine side of the inner wing. The material is just some 1.5mm rubber sheet off eBay. It appears to be tough enough but I guess time will tell and yes the originals were only stapled together !
I used my old grotty ones as a pattern. I’ve got 1.4m of the sheet so If you need some I can knock you a pair up I think they were the same on sprints

Started installing the shell on to the Rottiserie today’s. Has anyone else used one and did you have any problems with your chosen mounting points . At the front I’ve made some beefy brackets that pick up on the crossmember points so that should be ok it’s the rear that I’m wary of.

Thanks Chaps. I have to say this was made in the UK he’s only in Telford. By a guy called Ade Foreman at AF light engineering. I turned it through 90deg this afternoon and wow it’s going to make the repairs to the underside so much easier and therefore better. I’ve now got to decide how far I go with the underside do I

A) make repairs where needed and then try to match the original under seal just where needed

B) remove all old underseal make repairs reseam seal and then spray with paintable underbody protection and have the underside painted body colour

Thoughts welcome

A/ Sensible

B/ Too tempting.

As you say Lou, it makes the repairs so easy it's hard to resist getting carried away...

I’m tend to agree Kev. As I’m trying to do the best job I can .The only problem is that sometime you can end up with a car that’s so nice you never end up driving it because you don’t want it to get dirty or splashed . It’s daft I know but where we live we’re surrounded by small country lanes so there’s always muck and shoite about from the local farms. I will be fitting arch liners to the front to help keep it from getting to bad. So I guess it’s B

Yes, agree you can fall into the trap of making it look too good to spoil. Been there, done that...
But consider it another way. Make it nice, all fresh, sealed and painted so it looks nice.
Then still blast along the lanes safe in the knowledge that you can safely hose it down underneath as there's no dodgy areas ;)

I think that’s a sensible approach Kev . Btw what undercoating would you recommend? I guess it needs to be a soft drying and paintable ?
