That should be a great project. 1984 must make it one of the last cars. Will that be a "B" reg?
Do you plan a total original spec ? I remember you asking about the trim material, did you get any joy?
Good luck with the project. :D

Ive been really lucky the seats are in very good condition and have cleaned up well . I've also found a complete spare front seat so I do now have a small qty of Ti material.
The car is on an A plate but the log book and bill of sale has it first registered 14th March 1984 . Its a 1.3 Ti and whilst I'm not building a racer. I'm looking to build it up as a nice fast road car.
Std interior no bonkers body kits or roll cages or extra stiff suspension. But Something I can jump in and tour Europe in reasonable comfort . I've got a number of engine options from the zingy 1.3 or 1.5 QV or a 1.7 I have both 8 and 16v options as for carbs I've got a pair of 36s 40s and 44s as well as some 45 jenveys but that would need omex and electronics which I'm trying to avoid on the sud .

Hi Louise

If you wanted to part with any of your carbs, i believe Liam was looking for something like the 44's a short while back :)

Just a thought, nice project, keep us posted

So that is why I thought I recognised the chap in the corner. I have some of your old half race cams. ! :D

I was too busy wondering how far in to the peak district the Sud had been living as the weather and background looked familiar.

Sounds a like good target to aim for, retaining all the pleasures and practicalities of a Sud to ensure you get a car you can easily enjoy. :D

Good luck and hope the restoration goes well.

Finally made a start in some of the small repairs to the Sud today . Stripped all the sound deadening from the RH footwells to assess the extent of the crusty stuff . Pleasantly surprised the lack of it TBH. Couple of small repairs to the floor to sill join but apart from that it not tea bag.

Pretty rare to have such a late third series TI that is not a QV. Such a car will definitely enhance the coverage of the Alfasud history.

Looking forward to see your progress.

Hi Lou,

looks a decent base to start with, allways liked the colour.

Do you have decent seats for your project ?

Liam

Hi Liam The seats aren't too bad to be honest but if you have some going begging I may be interested as spares . Did you sell the shell in the end . I saw it disappear from fleabay.

Hello Lou.

Withdrew the shell, had a couple of silly offers, probaly wise to keep
in case i total the racer :D

Have mint full set off seats, will hold on to them, unless right offer comes along
or swap for series 1 seats,

Liam

But more digging done today removed a few more badly done patches. Mainly LH front inner wing too rail. Im hoping to redo them to be as near factory appearance as possible.

After patch removed

This area was a right mess. Had to cut the bonnet stay off as it had been welded on. I think I've sourced one now

more done today. Engine and box now out ready to get properly stuck in.
Next move is to make some dollies to sit the shell on when I take the suspension components off.

Thanks Colin . I'm getting on quite well redoing some old badly done repairs. I'm working on the LH inner wing top rail area at the moment then I'll be getting on with the bulkhead where there a few small repairs needed where the pedal box sits (usual stuff) but its by no means a disaster im hoping to have all the work I'm doing done by Christmas so I can look at getting it into the bodyshop early in 18.
