New 33 fuel tanks available on Ebay - NEW PICS ADDED

Whilst searching for some fuel system related parts for my Alfasud Super resto on Ebay I came across a number of listings from a supplier in Germany of remanufactured Alfa 33 fuel tanks. I think these tanks are for the fuel injection models and have an extra vent near the fuel level float mounting point on top of the tank. Presumably if this was blanked off the tanks could be used on carb equipped 33's, Suds and Sprints as well as the 33 i.e. models.

All 900 series fuel tanks get quite badly corroded in our Northern climate, so this looks to be a useful source of new parts at what looks to be a reasonable price - delivery to UK is included in the price. Some tanks are listed for higher prices than the £88.60 I first noticed them at. They are listed at up to £120 I think, so if you are interested be careful and don't pay too much!

Can this useful link be added to the thread started by "KevJTD" on remanufactured new parts? Otherwise this particular thread will fade away and will become less useful to people searching for stuff.

Anybody with a solid reply on "Alfasam" comment regarding the interchange-ability with the Sud range if closing the additional vent opening required for fuel injected models?

I have just taken delivery of one of these fuel tanks. Only ordered 3 days ago so very quick delivery. Paid £88.60 delivered UK, so a very good deal all in all :D

At first inspection it looks very good indeed. Factory fresh tank that just needs the additional vent outlet on the top side sealing off as it is not needed for a carb fed Sud like mine.

Here are some pics of the tank as unpacked today:

Well, there is one less tank available now and only four left. Thanks Alfasam for the tip off as I need a new tank for my 'get it finished one day Sprint Veloce'. The new tanks must surely be made of better steel than the originals and are therefore excellent value for money. As for the extra vent. I fitted a late 33 tank to my Ti many years ago and simply put a T piece near the top of the vent pipe that runs up the outside of the filler neck and ran another fuel line to it. Helps when filling up.

I installed one of these under my 1982 Sud few years ago without a problem, capping of the extra line.

Glad I posted the link - these tanks are going like hot cakes. Delighted with the tank I have received, so hope everyone else is equally pleased when theirs arrive.

Hopefully the tanks are being series produced and not just a job lot of old stock that is being sold off by the distributor in Germany.

The packaging my tank came in is custom fitted to the tank and looks brand new, so hopeful that the tanks are being reproduced on an ongoing basis.

Will have a look into the manufacturer (the name of which I now have) to see what more I can find out about longer term availability.

Tank ordered Friday delivered today.

They are now all sold. Great Spot Alfasam

Really pleased :D

This will form part of my fuel supply refresh which I am doing in the next few weeks.

Facet Electric Pump
Inertia Switch
New supply & return pipes
New tank sender
Filter
Stainless steel clips

And now a new tank.

It didn't seem to matter how many filters I had on if you let the tank run low it always managed to block the idle jets

Are they ok for an '83 Sud Ti, I'm tempted!

I'm using one on a 1980 sud ti.
I've got an old tank here, and the only difference seems to be an extra pipe near the sender on the new one.....just blank it off.

Looking at the picture in the E-Bay ad it is clearly a CAD picture so somebody took the effort of recreating the tank geometry based upon an actual tank and modelled it in CAD for reproduction. The geometry appears spot on as some of you in this thread already confirmed. Finally a part being reproduced in this way, I can suggest a few others to be remade ;-)

Rather silly they don't list the 1st and 2nd series 33's as suitable vehicles and of course all Suds (when capping off the extra vent or connecting it as somebody here suggested). They could get more potential buyers by expanding their list of suitable vehicles.
