A quick summary of how I've replaced the engine steady bar bushes on my Sud with poly ones. The buses I used were these:

I had to make up a new bar to connect the engine to the body as the original one had 'hooks' on the ends that are fine with rubber bushes but won't work with the poly bushes and steel tubed. I just used some 10mm bar bent to the same shape as the one that came off but without the bit that hooks into the bushes, if that makes sense. You end up with just a U shaped bar. I then cut threads onto the bars so I could secure it in place.
Best photos I could get:
A bit hard to see but the bush comes out below the metal mounting on the car so the washer is only touching the bush not any of the car body.
I've managed to lose the photos I took as I was making it all up and it's surprisingly hard to photo on the car but hopefully you can see what I did.
