Italy

Post by alfadave »

Common sense says there must be loads of Sud/33 parts still available in Italy.

Some random sellers on Ebay.

Has anyone found an Italian seller with a decent Website/Ebay Shop?

You'd think so wouldn't you, but they weren't highly regarded in Italy in the day and hardly anybody restored them.
I was contacted about 10 years ago by a Giancarlo Catarsi in Italy who was writing a book on the Alfasud and wanted to use my restoration of VJM for a section in the book as there just wasn't anyone in Italy who had done so, I sent off a bunch of pictures and text to him then about 18 months later a strange parcel arrived from Italy. Having completely forgotten about the book I was pleasantly surprised to find a book on the 'Sud but couldn't remember ordering it, then the note from Giancarlo prompted me to look and sure enough 6 pages of my car in the restoration guide!
Anyone else got this book? Check out towards the back..Has some great pictures but Italain text so I've no idea what it all says!

I'd love to know where the car is now, I sold it to James Wheeler to go back in the showroom, since they closed I've no idea where it ended up, wouldn't mind hearing where it ended up..
It had a fresh MoT this January so is still about somewhere...

Regarding spares.......

We all know about Alfasud Spares on Line and Justsuds here.

Alfa Restorations in Greece pop up on my computer........even though he doesn't answer my queries?

I didn't know about Old Alfa Parts, also in Greece (Fermeli) until Lou mentioned him.

I have looked on Ebay.it but can't find a way to translate it?

Someone in Italy must have tons of stuff?

I've purchased various panels and parts from Italy. They were from a number of different companies. As Lou says keep a look out on eBay and eBay italy. Even though an item is only listed on the Italian site if you message them some are willing to post.

So true Lou. You can't get much further away than Australia! 😉 My parcel is in customs at Coventry at the moment . I can't wait to see if it has survived.

Looking on ebay.it

Stuff seems very expensive, with postage to add on.

Think I'll keep on going up to Coppull.

No not a windscreen. That would have been a risk to far. A hint. They also drive right hand cars.

That's a no Dave. I did actually manage to get a pair of new right hand drive arms from Italy.
