Alfa 145 alloy gearbox sump

Hi, am after a alloy gearbox sump pan from a 145/146 as an upgrade for my sprint. If anybody has one they want to sell I would be interested.

As a matter of interest, what does it take to fit a 145/146 boxer gearbox to a Sud/Sprint?

Gear change/ speedo drive come to mind.

Depends if its a Sprint with outboard brakes, which the sud doesn't have... As the 145 'box doesn't have the studs for the inboard calipers.
I chatted with Tom Shrub about this years ago to see if the 145' box could be tapped to mount the caliper studs and he said no, there isn't enough material there to safely mount calipers.

Going the other way, Sud 'box into a 145 (or 33 injection for that matter) will also need a notch cutting out in the bellhousing to clear the crank position sensor. Easy enough, did that with the 16V engined track car years ago.

Aside from the above, and as has been mentioned the with the speedo and different gear changes which shouldn't hurt if you have the whole mechanism, then there's little else to prevent the swaps.

Hi Kev, surprisingly no rust on the Renault 5 just some bodywork damage. Was in remarkable condition and such a cool car.

It did look well, and appeared in great condition.
They had a great raspy exhaust note back then, way different than the Alfa Sud/Sprint rasp, more throaty and sounded great.
Much better than a Golf!
