Sud Door hinges

Post by LooLooSud33Spider »

Wanted.
One pair of RH Door hinges. Tbh I’m not sure they’re handed. I need the part that bolts to the car (Both Upper and lower hinge) I don’t need the other half. That’s welded to the door At the factory and isn’t removable.

I will be interested to see how you resolve the droopy door issue Lou. As I have the same problem.

Hi Crank
Make sure your door hinges are in Good shape that’s the usual suspect
They’re nothing special just a BFO roll pin
I’m thinking of having a machine shop turn some bespoke bolts up to do the job as I hate bashing things with hammers to install stuff. That said it’s usually effective .

Never thought of just hammering in a roll pin. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Lou in the end I ended up making a shim for my bottom hinge out of perspex (no rust) an old credit card makes a great template and easy to cut.

I used M8x 80 cap screws with the excess thread cut off, and a nyloc nut/washer
The 50mm plain shank length suits the hinge.

Thanks Dave I’ll look at that as a mod I’m reluctant to use the std roll pins as they’re such a PITA to get in and out . A simple high quality Precision bolt With a nylon nut would be much better
