Valves

Post by alfadave »

My local engine specialist has a 2010 Giulietta Cloverleaf 1750 tbi just in.
The cambelt snapped at speed, and all 16 valves need replacing!

Anyone know where these can be obtained at sensible prices?

I told him to try Jamie Porters Alfa Workshop, but seems they are out of stock.

The car will be up for sale when its sorted......I'm quite tempted!

Just need to make sure it runs ok after the work is done

Here you go Dave, genuine items too, exhaust valves are more expensive as being a turbo car they'll no doubt be sodium filled, in which case they are decently priced......integrale ones are WAY more expensive last time I was at Guy Crofts place..

Giulietta JTD 170
Lancia Delta integrale
Lancia Flavia coupe 1.8 1963
Lancia Dedra turbo
Renault Clio 197 RS

I'm bad with people things
But I should have tried more

Thanks Gents.
Second hand head is certainly an option.....finding one could be hard?

Will call in after the madness is over to see the guy

Spoke to the guy today.
He got the cheapest deal on valves from Alfashop, Norwich.

He's fitted them over Xmas, and the car is up and running.

He's going to let his Mrs use it as a runabout round town!!

But will give me first option if she doesn't like it.

That sounds like a result.
Once it is all bedded in and tested, lets hope she doesn't like it Dave ;)

Called in today.

Sadly she does like it!

Travel to work.....less than a mile.
Shopping, and picking the kids up from school.

Told him about the low mpg.....doesn't matter its low mileage.
High insurance.....its on the business policy
High road tax....not worried.

What a waste.

What a shame, probably won't do it any good either, short runs, but at least the school pick up point will have a change from all the 4x4 VW / Audi's.
