When clearing my loft I found the car stereo from my 1981 Alfasud Sprint Veloce (RIP 1996). It was the original equipment Pioneer KP-5400 that came with the car when I bought it from the original owner in 1991. It also has the mounting housing that fitted under the dashboard.
I have cleaned it up, replaced all three cassette belts, adjusted the motor to the correct speed, replaced the capacitors and diode in the motor control board and now it runs and sounds great. The fast forward, reverse and eject all work properly. I have checked the radio with a car aerial and both bands (AM only: MW and LW) work fine although occasionally you have to push in a button more than once to ensure selection.
The only minor blemishes are a chip off the left top corner and a thin crack from the left hand control (see picture) which is not really noticeable.
I'm afraid I don't seem to be able to find the manual, but the wiring diagram label is still attached to the back so fitting should be straighforward.
This would be a nice original addition to any Alfasud (and may have been fitted to GTVs as well). I am in Edinburgh but happy to post if the buyer pays the postage costs.
I'm looking for £100 - this seems about right looking at others on ebay (which don't have the Sud mounting bracket)
