Well re the sprint, they did say that they can dyno test it any time to prove it ;)

Sounds like fun !

:D Never 240bhp on the standard intake system.....the engine would be worth the asking price alone (or at least cost that from scratch!). More 140bhp I suspect!

Some really good cars in the other sections too - not cheap though!

Perhaps the bhp figures are in euros just like the prices.

From what I know, the stock 16v engine can go up to 160 bhp with balancing and a proper remap.

240 does sound a tad optimistic, but you never know ! Maybe they did a trick we know nothing of !

160bhp with the stock inlet plenum is probably not far off the maximum - it would be pointless going for cams, ported heads, increased comp ratio, etc, etc if you can't get the air in.

I'm getting 245bhp on a sensible rolling road - big valves, full race cams, full race heads, Jenveys, 1900cc, 12.5:1 compression, etc. Unfortunately it's all expensive stuff so I'm guessing that if the seller had spent his hard earned on all that then he would make more of it in the advert.

That said, nobody has really tried for all the above on the standard plenum (why would you?) so who knows, it might be 190bhp and a very favourable dyno! :D

At least he has avoided Motormans porous inlet manifolds! :D

is mention of an intercooler....but no sign of super/turbo charger installation.....a low pressure small turbo running through the stock plenum wouldn't be too far off that figure though would it?

but it doesn't appear to have the neccesary pipework on the inlet side, seems to have a cold air feed behind the main beam headlight position, nothing for connection to a forced induction system.

is an extra rad on the n/s near the water header tank but guessing that's an oil cooler?

No turbos on that Kev ! From what I can see ,they've moved the afm closer to the front that's it. Mite be an oil cooler on the other side ?

Definitely an oil cooler on the nearside - I agree, no evidence of a turbo install here - they are usually pretty messy on Flat 4's! I'll drop them an e-mail and ask about the engine spec as there is little info in the ad!

Morning chaps

On the 16v tuning front . Have you ever Heard of anyone running four of the same cams ie four inlets or outlets ? I'm guessing if true that one has a higher lift?

One of my mates have a 16v with C&B cams, Iresa 2,5" exhaus and a remap. He is currently running with standart plenum and injection. He was on the same dyno on the same day. 141,2 bhp and 160 nm. IMO cams is a waste of money on standart injection and plenum :)

Actually, my best man when he was closing up his engine, got mixed up for some reason and he installed the intake cams at the exhaust cams.
The car did work, but it was as if it was going on 3 cylinders
So I suppose its possible, if you get pulleys and set the timing spot on, but who and why would you go to that trouble ?

Just as a matter of interest - does a strut brace on a Sprint really make that much difference, given the position of the bulkhead between the strut towers? :?
