SUD16X

Post by 88liam »

Hi

I would consider selling SUD16X,

A Brunswick 1.716v race engine was fitted over xmas
just to get it moted and find out what power the engine was
putting out, unfortunately the engine is producing 150bhp but is 50%
down on compression on 2 cylinders, revs to 8000rpm, so a good
engine if rebuilt, to be honest the car feels great on the road but the
engine is a dog around town,. I have a 16v fully rebuilt race engine
which was advertised on here as an alternative option with different
choices of fuelling.

The car its shelf passed Mot with minimum advisories,

Spec below

Suspension
Front suspension leada adjustable coilovers,
Rear Suspension koni adjustables,
Lowered with uprated springs,
Front brakes Ap 4 pot,
Rear brakes 33 rear axle with hubs and handbrake
Fully polybushed.

Gearbox ,very good greencloverleaf box, 2nd gear perfect,16v clutch,
Battery is located under rear seat for weight /balance, very tidy
Rear boot spoiler fibreglass, very nice front bib to compliment the front lower spoiler
Wheels, 5 x 6.5 J x 15, alfa 164 alloys with matching spare, with 4 matching as new firestone firehawks.
Interior, vgc standard trim with momo leather steering wheel and boss kit,
Short shift gear lever, nice leather gear knob, oil pressure gauge.
Exhaust from the manifold back is stainless steel over sized with straight passage,
fuel tank is half the original size.

Paintwork is acceptable, looks ok from a distance, in my opining needs a full respray, micro blistering in places,
1 small dint on the driver’s door, bottom of driver’s door requires small attention couple of bubbles in places,
otherwise no rust, a very solid sud.

Also have a pair of recaro reclining bucket seats from an evo i have never fitted, the plan was to re trim to match the back seats of the sud.

Taking into account what other S3 suds are going for, the number plate , all the extras and choice of engine,
full mot, looking for around 7K Plus, serious enquires welcome, i,am not desperate to sell and will store again until
i have time to complete myself.

Does the car have history from Derbyshire?

I thought it was his. The half tank and straight through exhaust gave it away. It was a really nice car

I saw that car under a sheet in his garage about 9 years ago.
I bought a Fiat Punto full of parts off him when I was doing my sud.
I wondered if it was his old car as I couldn't remember his surname and recognised the wheels. :D
Good luck with the sale, it looks a great car.
