Personally, I think his price is a bit high and thought of offering

a few hazelnuts and a basket of windfall apples for it.

There is a cynic in me who thinks that possibly - and I'm not in any way accusing the seller of doing this as I'm sure he is legitimately just trying to sell an old, rusty Alfa - but I wonder if it has occurred to anyone that the V5, chassis plate and engine number will all be shown as a Touring bodied 105 Giulia GTC....?

For your £1000 you can then, if you were so inclined, (and I'll repeat that I'm sure that the seller has never even thought of this ) buy a step front Sprint GT for a £10,000 or so, cut the roof off, make some structural changes and then pass it off as a GTC worth 10 times as much.

It just struck me as interesting that the emphasis is on the 3 important parts - V5, photo of the chassis number and the fact that the engine is present. All things that will be recorded in any register of the 100 (or so) GTC's made. And that wouldn't be too difficult to move into a donor.

Right, I'm off to find a great defending solicitor.............or will obviously retract any remark that any person might find in any way accusatory, etc, etc.........
