Its a deal. So, Cadwell Park, both cars and I will leave my passenger seat in (good idea Shrew). You drive both and I will sit in and make notes on the difference, take pics and produce an article which you can edit, modify, approve before we give it to Richard. Bryan can have a go if he would like to seeing as his dad is setting it up. Maybe you want to sit in on that one Shrew.

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the offer, like Ted I'd be happy to help out in any way I can! I've obviously been speaking to my Dad about the car, it's provenance and preparation (past and future), all very interesting! The photos he has sent me show it to be in the great condition that everyone has reported it to be in - it certainly looks like a great find! I'll be over in Lincoln in a few weeks time so I look forward to seeing it in the flesh!

Regards,

Bryan.

I was just re-reading this thread and the spec list given to Simon - the spark plugs were translated as 'candles'..... :D

Looking forward to seeing it just like everyone else......only 2 months to Silverstone!

Hi Bryan,
Thanks for the offer of help. I do appreciate it. Once we know when the race prep will be finished we can think about a suitable date for everyone.
I cannot claim any super sleuth skills in finding this other than looking on the Internet. I have been very lucky it is in good order.
All the best,
Simon

That will be fantastic! I'm there with my race Sud.

I mentioned it to Tom last week who may well come along, Kev and Shrew have mentioned they might be there as well.

Pleases make it happen Simon - I can't wait to see your Trofeo car running!

Don't think I'm going to get much done this week - I'm counting the days down!

All the best, Ted

Hi Ted,
I called Tom today and it's fine to pick the Trofeo up from his place on Sunday so I will be at Cadwell first thing Mon 9th. I have running-in instructions for the first session and the tyres on it are not new (they are on the spare wheels). No idea what it will be like but fascinated for you to drive it and see what you find. All risks are mine. So no worries for you on that front. I don't think we will be able to push it too hard until it has an oil change after the track day but I am sure you will know all about that with your own Green Meanie.
See you all next Monday.

cadwell mate, there are no garages

seriously though, if you feel the need to change oil there and it's within toms' timescale for things then i'm sure we could change it with the aid of a trailer.

did far more on a trailer at cadwell with bryans 33 :D

Hi Simon,

That's a mistake - talk to Dave W. on the day - he'll give you your £25 back. I think it's a default option when you book a track day with him at places such as Donington, Brands and Snetterton, places with pit garages, etc. He is a top bloke and won't mess you around. It also helps that he likes Alfas!

There is the Scrutineering bay which is large and flat and covered should you need to do any work on the car during the day - people pop in and out as necessary so I wouldn't worry too much.

I'll bring my GoPro so you can record your laps.

What are you doing about Sunday night Accommodation? My friend Steve and I are staying on a Farm stay around 7 miles from Cadwell which is quiet and secure. I think they have a room left so PM me if you want the details.

If not, we'll see you there early on Monday - 8.30ish.

Cheers, Ted

Hi Keith,
You are very welcome. Hope the Trofeo lives up to expectation. I am looking forward to seeing the Green Meanie and I am sure that won't disappoint.

Tom at BLS is keeping an open mind on what the Trofeo should be like. Compression ratio very high at just under 12:1 massive carburettors and a vicious limited slip differential which Tom thinks could make the car a handful.

See you Monday.

Hi Simon,
Your Trofeo won't disappoint, and you will love the Green Meanie. Ted took me out in her in the driving rain last Cadwell meet. They are an awesome combination.
My alarm clock will get set for about 05:00 am :D

Looking forward to Monday.

Well it was a cold early start, but what a great day we all had.
Thanks once again to Ted for the blast around the track and Simon, what a gem of a car you have there. Great to see you all enjoyed your day and nice to meet up with you.
Sorry the photos are not that great but I will have to think about a better camera.

Another good Cadwell event, and great to see everyone today, a fair old turnout considering the bite of Lincolns winds!

Well done Simon, a good and safe negotiation of the twists, turns, highs and lows of the track, and a consistent improvement in line with the cars increasing rev limiter and bedding in,

Can't ask for much more from today, so heres to the future!

Ted, as usual, i witnessed nothing less than the usual form i / we have come to expect from your partnership with the Ever so Green Meanie! ;)

Great to meet so many Sud fans. The Trofeo went really well after meticulous preparation by Tom at BLS. Thanks for your support at the track too Tom.
Exhaust performed perfectly thanks Shrew. Quiet enough and nice noise. See here:

Thanks to Ted who was willing to pass on great tips and was very generous with his time. Fantastic to go out in the green meanie and see a bit of poetry in motion.

All the best,

Simon,

Glad it all went well - I had a good debrief last night! Sounds like the unknown element - the LSD - turned out to be a friendly one, you'd certainly have known if it was aggressive. My original Tran-X LSD was very good but was a real handful! Anyway, good to hear it was a successful day - was there any Go-Pro footage taken?

Regards,

Bryan.
