Any more thoughts Liam ?
Pic here of an unfinished car with s3 front spoiler , so not a fair comparison but the s1 looks better I think.
The series 3 spoiler looks great with full bumpers, but less so bumper less ?

Looks great, can I have the wheels.....?
I can't remember which engine you are using.

Re: Race sud finally goes for paint
Spec below, engine taken from alfa sprint race car which i broke for parts, rebuilt
, the failed gearbox was originally built buy AHM, Charlie form cloverleaf tranmissons rebulit it with a gripper lsd,
Engine,
Originally built by Nick Humphrey (the renowned Alfa Boxer engine \"Wizard\") still with his trademark pale blue painted engine block. Nick built this engine for use in another car that I used to own, a modified 33, for Ginny Hyde (wife of Mick Hyde, owner of Radical sportscars) If you asked Nick to build you an engine to this spec it\'s unlikely you would get much change from £5000.....
The engine is a 1.5 boxer unit, bored out to 1588cc and modified to Nicks\' exacting standards, including some titanium parts. The last time I had the engine on the dyno, it showed 165bhp, above the usual 100bhp per litre naturally aspirated race engine \"target\" It runs Pipercross filters and trunking to push extra cool air into the twin carbs. It runs a free flow exhaust, which makes a wonderful sound.....

Looks great! This is the same look I am going for. I think it's the same colour AND I have been hunting for some Compomotive turbos! with no joy though. I think I have found a decent alternative though. Maybe we should try and organise a group buy if Compomotive will do them?

Re: Race sud finally goes for paint
Ive been after Comp Turbo split rims for years, but in 15", and they just don't come up, particuarly in 4 x 98, but broaden your search to vw/vauxhall pattern of 4 x 100 stud pattern and you might just get lucky

Re: Race sud finally goes for paint
What size are those on Liam's car , 13 inch?
Re: Race sud finally goes for paint
Because I was using Ford PCD at the front of the Nova, I had my rear (Alfasud) hubs drilled for a 4 x 108 PCD and had studs fitted. The new holes were drilled in the areas between the 4 x 98 wheel bolt holes. I don't think it weakens the flange significantly. Might be worth considering if you really want to fit Comp Turbos. Most of the examples I have come across have been Ford PCD as they are popular on Escorts. In fact I am pretty sure my 15" Turbos came off a racing Escort, judging by the state of the Pirelli slicks that are still on two of them...

Ive done mine with 4 x 100 so far, and may do another set with 4 x 108 if the right wheels turn up!

Hi Liam
Our main Bodyshop during the sud years was actually Dale St garage just off Chorley new rd. It was run by a guy called John Tierney .
I do however remember Autolac I think we used them in later years but the guys name eludes me at the moment.

Morning All,
Finally got the sud out for testing at Oulton Park Saturday,
A bit slippy on track, car performed generally well, gear linkage snapped
late in the afternoon, back to the drawing board on the quick shift, met a chap called Marvin,
ex mechanic, worked on the Peter Cates alfasud back in the day,
hes now a photographer took a few nice pics of my car.link below.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the comments, really pleased with the car generally,
Yes Kev, c pillar vents to be added in time, still not sure about
the front spolier, comtemplating full trofeo arches. Brakes were
pretty rubbish, got better after bias adjustment, looking at wilwood
dynalite calipers for the front, exhaust noisy due to all the quick
release joints on the manifold, just made noise testing at 103db,
hopefully Shrew can work his magic.

with a red car I love to see as much contrasting black trim as possible, seems to make the red pop out even more
