Shant , go play with your dolls dear ;)

Big toys are for big boys

Depends, if I get some time to work on it, yes. But I want to bed it in first

Otherwise , I might just bring it at the track so I can bed it in there

It needs to be run in so the engine bearings , piston rings etc become more familiar with their surroundings

Working on a radiator fan shroud at the moment, and with that on, I might take it over night and go on a noisy drive, wake up the dead people, so it covers a few khms

Thanks Philip :)

Still got the rollcage to fit though.
Bought the OMP pipes and waiting to get some cash in so I can have them professionally shaped and I can weld it

Then , it will need a professional electrical wiring and gauges, to be able and see whats going :)

Steffen, yes, 16v

Shrew, I wanted to lower the car a bit first, see how much I've got left to play with, although if it goes as low as I want it to, it might not need bigger wheels ;)

Whooooah …. I need to catch up a bit on this .. Are we talking P4 gearbox and rear axle or is it something bespoke regarding the transmission ?

Shrew, I'm thinking of getting a set of lowering springs from AHM or if you'd be so kind to ask Tom for me or Bryan ?

Thanks for your concerns but I can reach just fine in my high heels :o

Jimmy, it is a P4 gearbox with the front diff removed and front drive shafts separated as well, a locked up coupling that gives the movement to the propshaft and a P4 rear diff.

Biggest problem is tunneling and the rear suspension re-fabrication/ re-positioning.

Thanks mate,

got myself a transport trailer so I can get the car for its first track day in April :)

No messy stuff, just bedding in, but I will be more than happy just to get to drive it a bit :)

The event is about 5 hours, so I can stay in the track for 5 hours straight - not that my fuel tank would allow me to do so - but it will be a good first chance to work the brakes, smooth out the engine and see how the car reacts to corners, so I can adjust my camber/ tow out settings :)

HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Shut it ! I just got rid of the "Check Engine" light ! It's now off limp mode. Its transformed into a rocket !!!

All I have to do on it now, is sort out the ABS warning light, the SRS warning light, the second time failing passenger window winder, and the uneven height suspension.

.... and the leaking sunroofs, and their broken mechanisms

.... and the leaking waterpump housing....

... and the leaking roof window seals....

.... and some rust on the roof ....

...

and a paint job

and the brakes air pump leaking....

... and the power steering fluid leaks....

... and a minor leak behind the oil filter mount...

...

and the a/c not engaging issue... and air circulation button not working...

..

and the leaking rear diff ....

And I think THATS ABOUT IT !!!

Happy times

Hi Chris - that's a great looking Sprint! I love the Alitalia colour scheme, it looks really evocative - and as for the rectangular slot exhaust tips... they're grrrreat!!!

...Only when I saw the louvres on the back, and read rear wheel drive, I thought for a minute that you had done the full Philip and put the engine in the back seat area. I really think you should...

Gowon, you know you want to 8-)

Lauren, so nice to see you here :)

Thanks for the nice comments :)

I've tried to balance the car up a bit by removing as much as I would from the front, as I've added weight to the back - structure, fuel tank, the rear diff, rollcage pipes etc...

The main reason though why I wanted to keep the engine in the front, was because I now have the option of turning the car into 4x4 whenever I need to, just by re installing the front diff and drive shafts - couple of hours work - so if with the supercharger power I get too much wheel spin, I can try it the other way round as well.

That been said, we are preparing one like you said, in another place ....

I see you are well ahead of me! That's a cooling hose I can see behind the drivers seat isn't it?

You are keeping it boxer I hope? Nice as Philip's 6C concept is, I think a cooking boxer mid-mounted in a Sprint shell would be pretty much the ultimate!

As for the Alitalia Sprint, I can see the appeal of a quattro, particularly when there is a supercharger involved!

Looking forward to watching these builds progress...
