Hi Kev,
Not me I'm afraid. I am focussed on doing every CTCRC race this year to try and win class D.
If I start adding in other races I think my wife will string me up. See you at Cadwell for the CTCRC race. Love Cadwell.
All the best,
Simon

Good luck at Rockingham Simon.
That new paint will knock a couple of seconds off your lap times!

Look forward to seeing what the *improved* Trofeo is capable of.

Hi Guys,

Morning qualification and I am two seconds a lap slower than yesterday. I reckon the pucker factor is creeping in a bit after yesterday.
The car ran well so I should be cured for the race. We will see. Very happy with my grid position. I need to stay with the Dolomite!

Very well done Simon.
Excellent grid position. Good luck for the race and be sure to tell the Firenza's that you have 1286cc :D

The only chance they may have will be down the straight but if they do manage it you will No doubt be back past them by Yentwood!

Looks like Steve Primett has his work cut out this year.

Excellent position Simon, looking forward to tomorrow.
I have watched some of Andrew's videos and he and his Jag are quick.
You have a good field there.

Happy with today but must try harder. I can beat that Firenza!

Watched the video back and there is a nasty vibration that is particularly bad in the bends. I am suspecting the near side CV joint took a hammering when the suspension arm broke.
I won't race tomorrow unless I can fix it.
Two complete overhauled driveshafts in the boot
and great advice from Tom.
6am start on the job. Race at 11:45am!

Hi guys,
When I spoke to Tom last night he said "just check the driveshafts are not rubbing on the body. They do that when lowered and with hard cornering."

Jacked the front end up and the cv joint play and action on full lock was fine. Checked the driveshafts and this was the offside one.
Poor little car has been getting a lot of abuse from me.

The nearside one is fine. The other lower suspension arm looks ok for one race before I change it.

I will sort the body rub when everyone wakes up in the paddock. Although not ideal, the driveshaft is pretty beefy so I won't fret that it's a bit smaller diameter where it has rubbed.

Good to go!

Sub strip looks good, a bit more retro than the previous one.

Hi Guys,

Very happy with the result today:

Made lots of mistakes but had two good saves to prevent creasing the car.

Thanks for coming along Keith. Great to see you and have a good chat.

Just editing the video. Lots of vibration but I reckon I pick up a load of rubber nuts on my tyres just after the start.

Well done on the weekends results Simon, the video will be interesting viewing :-)

I've had vibration issues at Rockingham due to picking up rubber nuggets round Turn 1 - it feels much worse than it really is - but it does feel bad!

Hi Bryan,
That's reassuring to know.
The video shows the nuts all over the track just after turn 1 and then the car starts vibrating.
Video too long for YouTube at 18 mins. Only allowed 15 mins.
Just uploading to Dropbox.

Here is my video:

Not the usual standard of front&back or camera mount etc as I did the filming.

Orange Escort guy did play on your power disadvantage didn't he, the little sod !!
Great to watch and it shows the little Alfa's ability to do the twisty stuff at a higher speed and brake better.
Cheers. :D

Changed the wheels tonight and the rear nearside has a nasty case of track nuts! Thought it would be interesting to see.
