Festival Italia Brands Hatch 14th August.

Post by Ted27sud »

I'm sure that most of you will have seen this but I'll post it anyway - it's the Festival Italia Day at Brands Hatch this coming Sunday.

http://www.festivalitalia.com/

I've entered the Sud in the Italian Car Allcomers Race so I can give it (and me) a bit of a run out. I'll keep everyone posted as to how things go.

It looks like it should be a good day with the Alfa Owners' Club, Ferrari and other Italian car clubs supporting it along with the Alfa Championship and Ferrari Classic Championship racing.

Cheers,

Ted

Have a good day Ted.
Would have liked to have come down to that but have a family "do" to attend.
Look forward to the updates. :D

Hi Ted,
I would have liked to do that but I am away for the weekend. Will you do an in-car video so us newbies can pick up some top tips on how to drive Brands Hatch in a Sud?
I bet you will have a great time.
All the best,
Simon

Cracking day at Brands on Sunday. Car ran faultlessly and the weather was perfect so all was good.

Qualified 4th in the Italia/Britain Allcomers Race behind two Ferrari355 Challenge cars and a Mini Miglia. Cracking start in race 1 and led first two laps but couldn't keep the Ferraris at bay or the Mini so ended up 4th.

Led the second race again for two laps and then a 355 got past me (blasted past!) and I ended up second. Overall pretty chuffed to be honest and the Sud was immense fun around Brands just like Cadwell Park - perfect for a light, nimble car.

When I've worked out how to edit it I will post some GoPro footage......'How to out-drag a 380BHP Ferrari in an Alfasud!'

Still buzzing two days later!

Cheers,

Ted

What's with all the Minis? Are they Innocentis or something?

I think it was a Italian vs Brits race.

Hi Ted,
Michael says that if you upload the video to his google drive account then he will edit the video for you. He hasn't forgotten going round Snetterton with you in the Green Meanie.
I will send you the details.

All the best,
Simon
