Cheeky Sud

Post by Marlow Sud »

Hi Guys,
I found this footage of Chris Snowdon in a GTV6 at Cadwell.
A series 3 Sud scampers past him. The Sud is weaving through traffic and I can't believe how long he stays ahead of the GTV6 which is clearly considerably faster.
The Sud driver does some very cheeky blocking on the straights.
Really funny to watch.
Who is that Sud driver?

Perfect Title Simon,

and similarly perfect exploitation of a decent Sud on an ideal Track.

I'm sure Chris was quite frustrated at the little scamp, and Peter was probably lucky not to get a little "encouragement!"

brilliant find mate

Sud driver was Pete Cate in Dave Litchfield's car. A very lightweight car at 650kg with full rear wings also in fibreglass (the UK kits were moulded this way - like yours Shrew). Pete is currently an Aston Martin semi-works driver competing on the German VLN series.

that must be from the early 90's, a 155 in the race but also still has the big oak tree and banking at hall bends, just after the clubhouse. always used to be a "thread the needle" when coming up to that point when we were rallying there :D

Blimey. You guys are a mine of information.
I like the pictures of Suds on his website under 1996.
In the video, he doesn't half chuck it about! I was willing him on just like the Nick Swift mini at Goodwood - another David & Goliath battle.

Brgds,
Simon
