Gents, I need your advise:

- Engine/axel is 1.7 but gearbox is 1.2 and the axel is now to short to mount on the gearbox. I had a extra set of axels where there was some spacers on the end of the axle, but when I fitted this, it's way to tight between axel and gearbox (here it should be some room for movement???). Is there different type/size spacers for this use, or is my car bendt after the flip??

Thats because models which had spacers like that also had inboard brakes, so you should be missing about 15mm - the thickness of the disc :)

What you need to do is remove the axles from within the gearbox - the ones that hold the diff in place - and bolt on your own.

If what I'm saying is correct , you can verify by checking the size of the shafts that are on the box right now.
Then you can just verify that

Some research gave me this info:

- There is two size spacers, 10mm and 22mm - and I have the 22mm

I have now got hold of 10mm spacers from my "pusher", so will try them on for size

What puzzles me is that the 16v axles are larger in diameter than the ones that need spacers.
Moreover, they usually came with a bolt on the hub side rather than a nut

so given that you are using stock 16v hubs, you're gonna need longer bolts if you are going for the adaptor route, which I found a bit tricky to get.
It would be much easier and much more correct alignment wise to just change the gearbox shafts

Does this make sense ?

Axle solved by 1 cm spacer and 6cm bolts, next challange is to get the radiator tight. Today it was leaking :-(

But light is working, front installed, so just the radiator and a wheel bearing left to fix :-)

Thank's!

And now I don't like the white on the hood and side panels, so I might have to buy some black spray paint......

It's time for adding "things", now that tha car is working. So, what du you guy's suggest on front spoiler/splitter/canards?

Easy to just fix a lip, but need to lower the front first. One suggestion is a 75 frotn lip (see pic 1)

And then ad some more

Any suggestions on making a quick shift gearing? On my old gearbox, the arm was just liftet with a new hole in the gearshifter (higher up), but with this old 1.2 gearbox the link arm is different. I assume the same resault if I lift the link arm, but how to fix it?

Well, quick shift have to wait. After a track day test on sunday I hade to change gear oil on my "new" 1.2 gearbox. It was foaming like hell and sprayed the hole underside of the car after just 5-6 laps, so now I have changed to Valvoline 80W/90 GL5 and hope this solves the problem.

Otherwice the engine, gearbox and car worked well, and I even got into 5th gear for the first time on the finish straight. Regarding splitters and wings, it have to wait until I get some more spare time - but any input will be appreciated.

Don C. sends his regards and stat that he is ready for any competitors that might have any funny ideas.....

Don't think the damage is to bad, but the steering arm on the damper took a hit. Also the mounting for the front bumper needs some re-thinking, but all in all much less damage then assumed when looking at the 45 degrees toe out I had

Steering arm/rod fixed, hood fixed, side panel fixed, and the test run last week went well - so now everything is ready for a new race weekend. This time we are guest class in the National Racing Championship, and I hope to keep this newcommer behind me the hole weekend
