Two nice prospects there mate, of course the Flavia I already have but an Appia would be welcome, as much as I'm not in the market for anymore cars. :?

Yes an Appia looks to be a very nice car esp as i cannot afford a Auralia GT .

One of the museums in Italy has a wooden buck for forming the bodywork on, or for design and just that alone would do me.

Not really a new purchase as I've owned it before, but the 145 has gone to Richard in a deal where the gtie came back to me

Yes, just the Clio spoiling the full Italian line up!

I used to have a 172, then passed it on to my son.
sadly a woman T boned it on a roundabout, and it was written off.

Great Q car I thought.......very unassuming exterior.

Great engine ,crap gearbox!

Do you ever use yours Kev?

Got the clio probably 2 years ago off Tim and so far I've only driven it in and out of the unit to move it!
Did sort a few bits out earlier this year with a view to putting an mot on it so I could drive it to cadwell to do a track day but then the virus happenened, so there it sits

Talking of projects bought, not that we were of late, but remembered we recently chatted about how many cars/projects we all had.. Or was that just in my mind?

Anyhow, I got this the other Saturday.
Well if truth be told it was part of the deal with Richard that saw him getting my 145, which I still miss having here, and me getting the Y10 GTie back, which is nice..

I suppose technically I did own it for a few months, but on arrival at the unit on Richards' trailer it got some interest from Terry, the older guy who rents an adjacent unit, that's him in the last pic with the hat and bodywarmer on.

Within a couple of hours it was sold...

Didn't even get to build this one!

Still, guess it saved me the trouble.

Shame it has gone mate. I think that would have looked good all done up next to Rob's Imp. :(

Yes, agree mate. It is fairly solid too, doesn't need that much metal work doing considering its' age..
Old Terry though learned to drive in one , he's in his 70's now but still turns in a full week at the unit and he got all revved up at the thought of having an Elf for himself so I couldn't'' refuse..

I don't know where these people get the enthusiasm to still be messing with cars for a full week at 70 yr old.

Impressed and nice to know it will be cherished as not a bad little car. Remember being in one which was going too fast with an unreliable driver, till my ex merchant navy mate in the back put a large arm around the drivers throat and started to throttle him.

He suddenly turned into a careful driver.

Good job too as the driver crashed it big time the next week and it was immaculate until then. Had been his grans car.

 that calmed him down some then

must admit i'm not a great passenger

Terry is great, not sure exactly how old he is but in his 70's. He keeps the unit and messes with cars to keep himself active. Well more than messes really, he's been doing an MGBGT last year that was a real mess. Used to do it for a living so knows his way around cars, but had lung cancer a few years ago so can't do much spraying, hence he got me to spray his Morris Minor a year or so ago, another full resto!

As for the Elf sitting nice alongside Robs' Imp, yes it would. But I fancy an Imp myself but a bike engine conversion...

Well, I've done it again. Now a 5 car Lancia owner.... Couldn't resist it, a Dedra turbo for sale within 50 miles of my door, and a red one like my old car... No point trying to resist...

Even if these were the advertised pictures....

But these were the reality

The eagle eyed will of course noted its now in my unit, so resistance was indeed futile!

Now sat in line waiting for attention. Which won't be long, it's jumped the queue..
IMG_20210317_200515.jpg
Did come with a set of 155 sport line wheels, which I do quite like but don't think I will use, may put them up for sale.

Hi mate, yes the sales photos were when he bought it, not when selling it
We know it takes more to faze you than that.
I am sure you will enjoy getting stuck in to that project and it will look great. Nice shaped car and pretty rare I would think.
Personally, I would hold fire on getting rid of the 155 alloys, I think they could look good on the finished car ;)
Looking forward to another thread :D

Didn't think they ever made them with RHD. Which country was it built for originally ?

Yes, it'll be a walk in the park this one mate, had a bit of a look over it tonight. Amazed to see it still has the electronic suspension still on, and in great condition. They had a switchable system from sport to standard mode that stiffened it up, some road-testers said it just made things more dead to feel!

It's a UK car mate, they were built for us believe it or not! Dedra started from 1989 here and were available right up until Lancia pulled out of the UK in 1995, so we didn't get the last Dedra models that had detail changes.
There were quite a few different ones available here, 1.6 single cam engine, 1.8 & 2.0 twin cams plus the 2 litre petrol turbo as this one is, pretty similar to the integral engine albeit tuned differently. There is even a Dedra integrale but they were LHD only, like the Delta. The last of the line Dedra models that we didn't get had a lot in common with the Delta models, which we also didn't get. Also there was a TD version which was before the JTD versions so the old mechanical diesel so not all that fast or refined. We didn't get that either.

My memory must be even worse than I thought. Can't remember them being sold in the UK, but as a fan of Italian cars I must have been aware of it at the time, especially as I have owned two 155's and new they were more or less the same. A friend once bought a Lancia Gamma that had been brought over from the salt free Channel Islands, it was one of the best cars I have ever driven. A big Sud.

Actually that's not a bad idea...

Retiring?
That was the plan, but like a kid in a sweet shop temptation keeps showing up..

I haven't a classic Alfa since the 145 went... So another TS car offered to me was hard to resist... Must try harder... Second car this week, both red, with faded paintwork and lacquer peeled off....

You’ll soon have that sorted Kev. Personally I’d change the wheels to earlier style. I’ve got a set here you can have FOC along with all the other gear we’ve discussed
