So are you planning on becoming a Classic Lancia Specialist in the future ?

Why ten .....that's the a question isn't it, you must be close to ten cars now

I just seem to have the same problem with cycles at the moment which is much less fraught.

Lancia is my first love mate, Alfa came much later.

My first Lancia was a Delta 1.5 that was traded in to the garage I worked at, really went well but had a leaky fuel tank, only place I could get one was the local Lancia dealership in Horncastle, that cost me over £150 which wasn't far off what the car cost me!
Loved it though...a succession of Deltas & Prismas followed then came the Dedras. had nothing but Lancia for probably 15 years.
Then with a family coming the HF turbo made way for a Dedra turbo which eventually made way for a 156 2.4JTD as I was lured by air-con!

Always was gonna go back to Lancia though, never will get away from that fact ;)

That all makes sense now.

Well I can understand it as a friend owned a Fulvia for a year at the most, but the days out in that I remember very well. Esp in the snow over the Pennines.

It would get further than a landrover most days as it just went up and over drifts. Great fun. Hand brake became very trouble some and he got rid of it. Shame.

Little Y10 arrived safe and well courtesy of Shrew, thanks again mate.

Just time now needed to look over it, did have a sneaky blast up the back road though, a full 78bhp on tap :D

Thats good 78bhp in that a small car. Good fun. :D

Is that a Peugeot 406 coupe next to it ? I heard they have big electrical problems which always seemed odd as the saloons and estates did not .

it is a 406 coupe, John who I share the unit with likes them. He has a 2.2 & a V6, not sure which one that is, think it's the 4 cylinder one.
He hasn't had any electrical issues with it, has had some emissions related ones with the V6 though, has 4 cats! One of which seems to be causing problems, but how to decide without the trouble of taking them off and seeing if they've broken up!

Four ! That's nuts and for problem solving a real hassle. I do think they are a great shaped car car though. Oddly and quite rarely I have liked them just as much from day one where as often I can like a car for a bit then go off it and some times come back.

Vauxhall Calibra would stand out for that. Loved it , now would not have it in the shed if given to me. As i said ODD.

Oh I don't know. Pug 406 was styled by Pininfarina I think, if it wasn't so French underneath it would be a great looking Italian, not something that could be said for the Calibra. As you know I like my old Vauxhalls (they always seemed more left-field than the equivalent Ford), but GM are very good at following fashion trends, rather than designing something timeless. Result? Cars that look hot when first released (how amazing was the Mk2 Astra when it came out?), but do not last the test of time...

So I say, not odd at all

Oh yes, I see what you mean

A very smart 406 coupe with Ferrari badges would not look particularly wrong. In fact I bet you could fool a lot of people.

The Astra GTE which my Dad had does sum up well about about GM. Though that has aged better than most I had forgotten how smart a car it was when released.

He always reckoned his first one was much better than the second and it was a change in gearing that did it. Went back to Fords after that.

Well last night it went to its' new owner, a friend of Shrews'.
So I'm back in the 145 and loving it for the time being 8-)

Mentioning no names Kev but Isn’t the definition of Madness the total failure to admit you’ve got a problem ?

No. the sign of madness is doing the same thing over and over and getting the same result. Which is what Kev does - it's called AWESOMENESS.

Lol, it is a problem that's for sure.
The inability to realise that you already have enough cars

It won't be started on for a year or two so time to collect a few missing pieces.

I've not been underneath yet but from what I can see it looks OK, especially for a 55 year old!

Usual rust in footwell but pretty solid in the sills and box sections..

Had a bit of a bump in the rear which will need a bit of pulling out, car came with a decent replacement bootlid.

Come on Tony, don't tempt him any more !!

Love that instrument cluster Kev. Very stylish, but an unusual rear light unit arrangement. This will be a cracker when finished mate.

It is a Flavia Dave, didn't put many details out yet as it will be a while before I touch it again. It's a series 1 coupe 1.8 from 1963.
It is indeed a flat 4 but nothing else in common with the Alfa flat 4.
This is more similar to the Subaru way of doing it, casings split down the middle. Actually has alloy block halves with wet liners, sure that'll be fun to rebuild
Has an interesting few bits of engine design which I may go into detail with if any interest. Maybe next winter I'll start rebuilding one.

The rear lights are slim indeed Keith, this shows how much damage there is to pull out :?

Now you are getting serious, all that modern stuff proving to easy? ;)

I trust you've watched that Car SOS episode where they did one of these? Hope your engine is good as they seem to be pretty rare. Mind you despite the rear damage it looks 100 times better than the 2 they had at Anglia car auctions a couple years ago, they had been stripped and then left to rust!

Looking forward to another epic Kev
