now, one for lauren. sure she knows the car but I instantly thought you'd appreciate it. something i'd not heard of and must have been quite a think back in 970, 2.4L twin turbo and all....

I did try and photograph the strange door arrangement, had like a suicide rear door then the main door opened along with some dashboard dials etc on a sliding mechanism. very futuristic!

Excellent selection of photos Kev.
Very pretty silver convertible and have also a soft spot for the old Strada.
Beta related Lancias go without saying. 8-)

Lancia Auralia B would be most desirable for me, but full Martini Intergralli is fab. Excuse the spelling, been a long week.

Hi Kev - looks like a great day out, thanks for posting the pictures, especially the ones of the Vauxhall SRV. Yes, the rear doors are something special, I have only seen them open in photographs. Amazingly, it was only ever a pushmobile! The engine block is carved from wood, with fake turbo etc. Vauxhall had no transverse gearbox at the time. The control panel features some early digital readouts, and there is a control that changes the aerodynamic trim of the car to cater for different loads. I never figured out where the radiator was located...

Like the Lamborghini Marzal and Nissan 126X, a superb attempt to create a mid/rear engine full 4-seater.

Also loving the Lancia Beta HPE and the Fiat Strada. Coming back from the Flying Bull in the latter after one too many sherbets with Vanessa Paradis' Joe Le Taxi on the stereo is one of the more surreal experiences I've had in this car...

Lauren
