Will have to message John - a ride in a "chair" has always been on my Bucket-list....I've done all the other daft stuff.

It was good to see you and chat Kev, - a big end cap came off in the Saturday race, wrecked the cranckcases, and the cylinder barrels, and broke the top off a piston, so lots of work to do. We are back at Cadwell on Sept 28/29th with BHR - British Historic Racing -and lunch time sidecar taxi rides will be available......... no excuses now !
Cheers, John.

Cripes John, that must have been hard to look at . Was it a particularly good engine ?

Bugger, knew from the damage to the casings that it'd be something serious, seems so!
Anything salvageable from it?

I'll definitely be at the end of Sept meet so hope to see you again there John 8-)

So Tony, you've got a few weeks left to get your passenger sidecar ride around Cadwell :D

It's been a while since I've last updated the integrale thread since finally getting it on the road.
As some of you know it has been trying my patience over the last couple of months, a fault within the electrics that meant the engine cuts out as soon as boost starts to build.
Not the ideal thing for a car that should be all about the driving experience.

The car falls into the period of early electronics which were far from the sophisticated self learning type of cars nowadays, a 3 pin data connector was the only point of data acquisition which is far from ideal for fault finding compared to the modern 16pin OBD type sockets. Didn't help that the car refused to talk at all to Phils' test equipment meaning things had to be individually checked.

To cut a very long story short the fault was eventually traced to a faulty Crank position sensor, at long last I could stretch the cars legs without headbutting the dash!

Last Sunday of course it was the wettest weekend for ages. At least that gave me a chance to check the road holding at much lower speeds than in the dry. All I can say is that you must have to be going crazy to unsettle it in the dry! On soaking wet corners it seems to dig in at the outside rear wheel, as long as you power through the bend. And the power? Well it's more than adequate! Not the lazy power of something modern turbo diesel like the giulietta, the lag is something you have ro drive around. Nothing much happens below 2500 rpm, almost 3k before things are building, by 3500 rpm though with the boost up at 1.2bar things are getting a bit frantic. It's quite ferocious, 3 figures come up fairly.
Shame it's coming to the end of the weather suitable for the car, salted roads are just around the corner.

Me too Lou, I'm glad it didn't need that new wiring loom and ecu set-up after all, £3k+ would have been hard to swallow..

Glad its settled and your out enjoying it. Make the most of it. Saw a perfect white one in France recently and thought of yours as he wanted 80,000 euro's.

Mind you he wanted 200,000 for the perfect 205 T16 next to that.

Yes , but if you just swap around a few bits, engine in the back and a new paint job you could make it look like a T16 205 and gain a few more euro's.

Another project for you.

Gave the car a good wash on Sunday while the weather was relatively dry, flushed all the dirt and crud from the arches. Be getting laid up for winter any time soon.

This angle was what spurred me on to get the car done, seems a lifetime ago!

I'm pretty sure you were driving the Dedra when we first met at the Riverside for a Lincs section meet.

You are sort of correct Tony,
That is indeed the same car but I was a passenger that night mate, Jim thought he'd take the Dedra out for a ride.
We were trying to remember how many years ago it was that Jim got the car off me but we couldn't remember, know I only sold it to him as was tempted by an Alfa 156 with air con..

Think the Riverside was 2010/11. Pretty sure Joe1968 was there and Jill Valentine in her bright yellow Mito. :?:

As we all know, the year's been a strange one so far, no point in getting cars out of storage as nowhere to go with most events cancelled.

As it's now August and well over half way through the year l thought sod it, I'll tax the integrale and fetch it from Jims' place just to give it a blast to remind me why I bothered..

Took it up past Cadwell but didn't call in, for once a decision not to buy a season ticket last Xmas was correct!
Called in at the unit, did a few jobs, moved some freshly painted Y10 bits to the big unit, finally fitted the new horns to the Clio then a nice ride back down Caistor High Street which is a mega bit of road.

Reminded myself why I must use this car more, it's just phenomenal.

Called in on a new solar farm on the outskirts of the village for a snap or two, the old school oil burner against the backdrop of what the future holds, enjoy it while we still can guys 8-)
